The special meeting of the Village Council was called to oreder
by the chairman Raymond T Raskop
The Village Attorney stated that the purpose of the special
meeting was to go over the bids with the Glen Urban Road
Committee. Accept or reject bids and decide the amount of
work that should be done on the roads in Glen Urban and Glen
Urban 2nd addition.
Mr. Paul Olson and &r. Ewan both reported that they felt the
nublic sentiment of the property owners in Glen Urban and Glen
Urban 2nd addition wotld not stand for anymore assememtats,Both
members of the Glen urban road committee sejusted that the
roads be repaired with the funds aviablee
motion by Reiss seconded by Busch that the bids for the repairs
for certain streets in the Glen Urban and Glen Urban 2nd additions
be rejected and the clerk be instructed to return certified
checks.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen th adopt the folowing
resolution. Be it resolved by the Village `ouncil of the Village
of Golden Valley that it deemed necessary and expedient to repair
and rebuild certain sections of the black top pavement and of the
cobblestone curb and gutters on certain streets in Glenurban. and
Glen Urban 2nd additions, to wit:
meadow Lane , Westwood Drive, Janalyn Road, Parkview Terrace,
and Glencrest Rd.
at some or all of the places described and set forth in the repott
of Hitchcock and Esterbrook Inc. Consulting Engineers filed with
the Village recorder on June 15,1943 and in accordance with plans
and specifications prepared by said consulting engineers, which
plans and specificationd also describe the location odf said
places and which are also on file with the Village Recorderp
Be it further resolved that the V llage Recorder be and he ids
hereby directed to advertise for bids for such repair and rebuild
ing on said dtreets as any of them and in said places as any of
thea and in accordinnace with such olans and specifications. Said
advertisements is to be published in the improvement Bulletin
on July 23,1943 and bids shall be opened by the Council at the
Village Hall at its meeting to be held Aug. 3,1943

Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that the Council rea.dvertise for
bids for ,the repairs of certain streets in Glen Urban and Glen Urban
2nd Addition. Bids to be opened at the regular Council meeting to be
held Aug. 3,1943,,

Liss White asked the Council to build a roam into her property
The Chairman sujested that she contact the property owners asking
th6ir permission and arrange to have a certain strip of land dedicated
to the Village.
The Village attorney gave a report on the Civil Service 'eeting held
July 22,1943 . He read an ap:dtan fron the attorney general on the
status of Officer Frandsen
Motion by Frandsen seconded by Filson that the Chief of Police be
instructed to bring the strength of the Police dept. up to Three full
time men immediately.
Motion by Busch seconded by Reiss to wait the motion by striking the
word immediately and adding the following " This action to be taken
after the chief confers with the civil Service Commission,
