OF GOLDEN VALLEY HELD AT THE VILLAGE HALL ON MARCH
30, 1944 at 8:00 P. M.
Members of the Village Council present: George Hanson, Hans
Reiss, Charles Franzen and Curtis V. Moe; absent, Gail Wilson, Recorder.
The President of the Council, George E. Hanson, directed Arthur
T. Nelson, Village Attorney, to keep the minutes of the meeting.
The President of the Council, George E. Hanson, announced that
the special meeting was called to consider applications for liquor licenses
on which there have been a record of violation. The application of Fred
Sa.rempa and Edward Dols was considered and it appeared that there was a con-
viction for possession for sale of intoxicating liquor without a license in
the month of November, 1943. Edward Buckley appeared as attorney for Mr.
} Sarempa and informed the Council that the partner, Dols, was in the armed ser-
vice and probably at Guadacanal. After discussion the vote was taken on the
allowance of the above application and the roll call was as follows:

Hans Reiss - No
Charles Franzen - No
Curtis V. Moe - No
The President of the Council thereupon declared the application denied and the
deposit of money accompanying the application was returned to the Applicants.
The matter of the application for a non -intoxicating liquor license
of Victoria Fisher was next considered. No appearances were made on behalf of
the applicant and the vote on the application's allowance was as follows:

Thereupon, George E. Hanson, President of the Village Council, declared the
denied
application,/with instructions to return the cash accompanying; the applicati.o .
The Council next considered the `- application of one Kursch for a
non -intoxicating liquor license at 3446 - 6th Avenue North, in the Village of
Golden Valley, and the applicant appeared and stated that he agreed to sell no
intoxicating liquor under this license, and that he knew the same would not
be tolerated. Mr. Hans Reiss moved that the application be referred to the
License Committee, which motion was duly seconded and the voting being taken
on the motion to refer was as follows:

Hans Reiss Yes
Charles Franzen - Yes
Curtis V. Moe - Yes
The Council next considered the application of Mrs. Fred Hyer
for a non -intoxicating malt beverage license. Mr. Don Morgan appeared as
attorney for Mrs. Fred Hyer and was heard, and after full and complete dis-

cession of the matter the vote was taken on the matter of the allowance of
said application and was as follows:

Hans Reiss - No
Charles Franzen - No
Curtis V. Igoe - No
Whereupon the President of the Council, George E. Hanson, declared the appli-
jcation denied.
The special order of business having been completed, Curtis V.
Moe moved that the Village Council of Golden Valley do now adjourn and which
motion was duly seconded by Charles Franzen and was duly carried by unanimous
vote, and the President of the Council thereupon declared the meeting adjourned.
