The meeting was called to.order by the chairman Geo. E. Hanson
Members present Hanson Frandsen Reiss Moe Wilson
Minutes of the regular meeting held April 4,1944 was read. -
Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss thtt the minutes stand approvwd
as read.

Mr. Moe chairman of the license Committees stated that Chasyer
Tomcheck had no liquor convictions on police records and recommended
that a 3.2 off and 3.2 Taverin licenses be granted to C --ester
Tomcheck
Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that a 3.2 tavernlicense and 3.2 off
sale license be granted to Chester Tomcheck

Mr. Hanson and Mr. Nelson both ask Mr. Wyberg, a reporter from the
Times `ribuns not to give Golden Valley anymore unfavorable poplicity
The chairman $elLd a petition asking the Council to grant Mrs Heyers
a 3.2 tavern license.
The chairman stated that because of a Village ordinance no,license
could be granted to anyone in Mrs Heyers building for one year.
The chairman ordered a hearing on the Heyers matter at the next
regular Uouncil meeting
The Attorney read a letter froom the Golden ti"a.' leis Civic League Inc.
asking the Council to acquire about 20 agree of tax delinquent land
at Glenwood eve and Harold Ave.
Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss to adopt the following resolution
Whereas Block 1-2-3-4 Western Ave Park Addition to the County of
Hennepin state of Minnesota has been forfieted to the State of Minn
for non payment of taxes and is about to be offered for sale as
provided by law, and whereas said Block 1-2-3-3 Westerfm Ave park
addition is located within the Village limits of the Village of
Golden Valley Henn County Minn and is desireable for nark and a
recreation purposes for said Village Now It is therefore resolved
that purpsuant to chapter 511 Laws of the state of Minn for 1941
the Village acquire said above described premisweand cause the
same to be properly recorded and to pay any expens incidental
thereto from the general fund ff said Village of Golden Valley

Mr. Hensler stated that persons living near the proposed park
area would object to the park
The clerk read a letter from the Golden galley Civic Leaque Inc
asking the Council to Dass a resolution asking the Hwxyh Dept
to build service roads on each side of 11ayzata Blvd.
Nation by Moe seconded by Reiss to adopt the following resolution
Whereas Wayzata Blvd has been in the process of reconstruction
for some years, and whereas the Oar has resulted in this work
being held in abeyance, and whereas at the conclusion of the War
this project will undoubtedly be among the first projects upon
which work will be started, and whereas 'Wayzata Bltd will become
a high speed highway to and from Mpls, and whereas it would serve '
to the best interest and saf*17 if, in addition to building the
highway proper, the highway dept. would construct service drives
on both si des of the highway and that openings onto the
highway proper be only at intervals of about three blocks.

The clerk read a letter from the Golden Valley Civix League Inc
asking the Council to send a communication to the County Commissions
asking that they make G.V Road and Winnetka Ave secondary highways
and that the Commissioners be requested to straighten out G.V. Road
Motion by Wilson seconded by Reiss that the Council coply with
with the G.V. Civic League Inc request.

Motion by Frandsen seconded by neise that the letter from Clea
Kennedy on the proposed plat of Kennedy So ?fest Tyrol Hills
addition be referred to the Planning Commission

A treasures repoat, read by Carl Johnson, was ordered placed on file
Notion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that the clerk be instructed
to advertise for 500 feet of fire hose. Bids to be opened May 16
1944 at 8.30PM

A bldg Inspectors report was read and placed on file
A letter from the G.V. Planning asking the Council to take ate -09
to acquire suitable property for future construction of Bldgs to
house Village equipment was read
The chairman ordered the letter placed on file
