Minutes ofthe regular Council meeting held May 16,1944 were read.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the minutes stand approved
as read.

The chairman called for bids on fire hose
Bids were received from the following Company'sJ.N.Johnson Cot
Minn. Fire Ea uipment Ca Hewitt Rubber Corp; American La France
Foamite Corp. and Eureka Fire Hose Co.
All bids were referred to Fire Chief Lovering.
An application from Iver Stanger for a on sale liquor license was
read.
Motion by Frandsen seconded by Reiss that the application be
referred to the license committee and Village attorney for investa—
gation.

Motion by Frandsen seconded by Reiss to grant Mrs Dols a cigarettee
license

Motion by Reiss seconded by Wilson to grant milk liceses to the
Superior $airy and the Isles Dairy Co.

Motion by Reiss se eonded by Moe to grant a 3.2 licese to Leonard
Blsomquest for six months.

An application for a 3.2 tavern license from Mr. Geo Maas Sr was read.
Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that the application be dinied.

A letter from Rodney Jacobson was read and placed on file.
Mr Kane stated that Mr Finn was no longer Interseted in having
Wayzata Blvd and Winnetka Ave rezoined.
Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that the Golden Valley Planning
Commission resolution be adopted.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the hearing,on the vacation
of Doughlas Ave and part of June Ave. be pos'pone until the next
regular Council meeting.

A treasures report was read by Ohrl Johnson and made a part of the
minutes.
Motion by Frandsen seconded by Reiss that the Council approve the
recommendation of the Road Boss- The weed inspector to receive
65¢ perhour and 7¢ per mile the total sum net to exceed $60.00

The attorney was instructed to draw up an ordinance to repeal the
present deg ardinancs
Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that the attorney be instructed
to draw up a Din ball ordi ance

Mr Nelson annouced that the Defense Bond Drive would start Monday
June 12,1944
The chairman announced that the Fire Underwrittere Enspectien
Bureau had made an inspection of the new fire truck and had found
it very satisfactory
Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe to adjourn was so ordered

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that the Village Council of the
Village of Golden Valley will
meet at the Village Hall in said
village on the sixth day of June,
1944, at eight o'clock P. M. and will
at said time and place conduct a
hearing and act upon a petition
duly filed with the Village Clerk
for vacation of the following de-
scribed streets in said Village:
All of Douglas Avenue as laid
out and dedicated in the plat of
Tyrol Hills according to the map
and plat thereof on file and of rec-
ord in the office of the Register of
Deeds in and for Hennepin Coun-
ty, Minnesota;
All that part of June Avenue as
laid out and dedicated in the plat
of Tyrol Hills that lies south of
the extension of the dividing line
between Lots 19 and 20, Block 4,
of said Tyrol Hills, all according
to the map and plat thereof on
file and of record in the office of
the Register of Deedss, in and for
Hennepin County, Minnesota.
