June 5,1945 651 The meeting was called to order by the President Geo.E HLneon &:embers present Hanson Frandsen Reiss doe and Filson Minutes of the regular Council meeting held kay 15,1945 were read. Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that the minutes stand approved as read. Hanson Frandsen nsise :doe Wilson (YES) Mr Amiansworth, Mr Zimmerman, Ur Alexander,a.nd Mr Decket gave reports on the disposal of surface water at Glenwood Ave. and Beddow Lane. The President recommended that Hitchcock and Estabrook Inc. be appointed to make a survey of surface water disposal in the area surrounding Glenwood Ave and Meadow Lane. ©ost of the survey not to exceed :250.00 Hanson Frandsen Reiss Moe Wilson (YES) Alderman Lund of Mpls, a member of the Sanitation Committee of the City Council., and Ms Huston, from the Npls Engineer's Dept. spoke on the fixed a#argesa.nd history of the Mple Sewage disposal system. A petition, with 101 signitures, asking the Council to authorize the State Authorities to take a census of Golden Valley, was read .Letters fromJ.D.Ryan, C.L.Swanson, Irvin R Snarks, and$erAtor Archie Miller were read and filed. Yotion by Reiss seconded by 'Nilson to adopt the following resol— ution: Whereas it is essential in the fixing of the total amount of taxes levied in each year by the Village for all General and special purposes, that the population of suarh Village be determined, NOW) THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bythe Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley that the Secretary of State be, and he hereby is, requested to take a census of the nonulation of the Village of Golden Valley, as provided in Section 275.45 of Minn. Statutes, 1941. Motion by Frandsen seconded by Wilson that the matter be tabled.
