Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that the minutes stand approved as read*

A Building Inspectors report was read.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the Bldg Inspectors report be
placed on file.

Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that Anthur T Nelson be appointed
Village Attorney for the year 1946 at a sallary of $75.00 per month
with extra fees for litigations and public improvements.

The Village attorney filled a letter excepting the appointment setting
out the terms of his acceptance.
Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that the terms exnressed in Mr Nelson's
letter be accepted,

Motion by Wilson seconded by Reiss that the President re(reive $50.00
per month and Trustees reoeive435*00 per monthwhichare statutory
salaries for the year 1946

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the Clerk's salary be set at
$75.00 per month for the year 1946.

Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that Gail D Wilson be appointed
Commissioner of Registration and receive 4100.00 for the year 1946.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that Arno Denzin be appointed road
supervisor and receive 4225.00 per month working a 40 hour week with
$1.50 per hour for over time for the year 1946.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that common labor receive 850 per hour
and truck drivers receive 900 per hour during the year 1946.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that Village patrolmen receive $180.00
per month and the Capt of Police receive $210.00 per month during the
year 1946.

The President recommended that the following persons be appointed
to the Golden Valley Planning Commission Mrs Wm Busch) Mr Nile Nic—
holson) Mrs Beal) and Wm Howard, their terms to eppire Decoa1,1948

also Geo. Hanson to fill the unexpired term of Mrs Crandall,
term to expire Dec. 31,1946 and Mrs Flossie Thotland to fill
the unexpired term of Mrs Finn term to expire Dec. 31,1947
Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss that the recommendation of the
President be accepted and the previous named by him be appointed
to the Golden Valley Planning Commission;

The President recommeded that Stanley Kane be appointed to fill the
unexpired term 6f John Finn Justice of the Peace.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that Stabley D. Kane be appointed
Justise of the Peace to fill the Unexpired term to John Finn*

Motion by Wilson seconded by Reiss thatthe Treasueres salary be set
at $35.00 per month for the year 1946.

building inspector for the year 1946.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that the salary of the Building
inspector shall be 60% of the fees collected for the year 1966.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that Dr Proffitt be appointed Village
Doctor for the year 1946.

A letter from Mrs Gaffney with a Doctors statement about Mr Gaffney's
present condition was read and placed on file.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe to adopt the following resolution:
WHEREAS it aD-oears that John Gaffney is now confined in the
State Hospital at Rochester) Minn and from medical authority at
said institution submitted to the Council by Mrs Gaffney his wife
it appears that Mr Gaffney is not able and will not be able to
fulliill the duties of his office for a long period of time if ever,
and ik not competent to appoint a deputy assessor*
NOW therefore be it resolved that the office of Assessor for the
Village of Golden Valley be and hereby is declared vacant.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe that Mr Frank Slavin be appointed

Motion by Reiss seconded by Wilson that the Council table the matter
of a deputy assessor until the next meeting,

The President appointed L.W. Levering Civil Servise Commissioner
for a three year term.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Mee that the appointment of L.W.Lovering
as Civil Service Commidsioner be confirmed.

The President appointed Mr Frandsen chairman of the Road Committee,
Mr Moe chairman of the license committee) and kr Reiss chairman
ofof the Relief Committee and ask Council confirmation.
Motion by Wilson seconded by Reiss that the appointments be confirmed.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Wilson that the contract: aubmitted by
the Suburban Henn. County Releif Board of the County of Hennepin
be tabled and referred to the Village Attorney for further study,

permission to lay underground cable in accordance with it's plans

Mr Moe chairman of the license committee recommended that the council
grant Everett Frandsen a filling station license.
Motion by Moe seconded by Reiss to grant a filling station license
to Everett Frandsen,

Motion by Reiss seconded by Moe to grant cigarette licneses to
Perry Woodfillp Glenwood Hills Hospital, Clara Schuller, Golden
Valley Golf Club. and Mae Quist.

The Village attorney gave the apinkon that from a letter written by
the President of the Golden Valley Golf Club they came within the
statue and if the Council didn't pass a resolution objecting they
could play Bingo.
The Village attorney called the attention to the Council that
Mr La Zerty is still violating the zoning laws.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Wilson that Boy Scout Troop # 281 be
granted permission to use the basement of the Village Hall for
meetings.
