11-19-46 Council Minutes
November 19,1946 The meeting was called to order by the President Harold W Swenson Members present Swenson Frandsen and Reiss Members absent Mee and Wilson Minutes of the Special Council meeting held Nov. 12,1946 were read. Motion by Reiss seco4ded by Frandsen that the minutes stand approved as read. Swenson Frandsen Reiss (YES) Mt Tulley attorney for Ir Thoney presented Mr Thone s side of the case to the Cofancil. Mr Wilson appeared and took his -seat as clerk of the Council. Letters from fir ar Sharpe and Mr IS.K.Corson protesting the locating of Mr Thomeys house at 4326 -6th Ave No was read and filed. Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that the first 'reading be giving the ordinance entitlesd: An ordinance amending as amended regulating ;the location size use and ee�qiee4 heights of Bldgs the arrangement of buildings on lots and the density of population in the Village of Golden Valley and for the purpose of providing the health saftty order convenience property and Ge -n'1 Welfare in the said Village and for said purpose to divide the village into districts" Roll call Swenson Frandsen Reisss Wilson (YES) The clerk gave the 1st reading of the above ordinance Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that whereas an urgency exists rules be so far suspended that the above ordinance be given it's ?nd reading and placed upon it's final passage wenson Frandsen Reiss Nilson (YES) The ordinance was given it's 2nd reading +he roll call on final paasage was as follows. The Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley do ordain as follows: Section I. That subsection (d) of Section 3 of an Ordinance Regulating the Location, Size,. Use and Height of Build- ings, the Arrangement of Buildings on Lots and the Density of Population in the Village of Golden Valley, and for the Purpose of Promoting the Health, Safe- ty, Order, Convenience, Prosperity and General Welfare in thee -said. Village and -. for said Purpose to Divide the Village j into Districts passed by the Village Coun- cil of Golden Valley on the 3rd day of May, 1939, be amended so as to read as follows: (d) That standard of residence requirements in the Open Develop ment District shall be a lot or prem: ises Of 10,000 square feet for one or two families housed in one building. and for more than two families 3,000 square feet additional for each addi- tional family housed. The provisions of the above describ- ed Ordinance shall apply to unplatted as well as platted lands and in com- puting the front yard and rear yard and side yard areas of unplatted land such front yard, rear yard and side yard areas must be at least as . large as the areas required for a lot. Of a width not less than 75 feet and an area of not. less than 10,000 square feet as provided for platted lot, This Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after publication. its passage and HAROLD W.
