A special meetin~ of the Golden Valley Village Council
was held on Mondry September S2 at the Village Hall at
8:00 P.M. with the following members answering to roll call:
President Swenson, Trustees r'randsen, Pinch and Putnam.
Absent.: Trustee Reiss.
A 11r. Saxil Tremont appeared before the Council stating thl
he was the owner of Lot A in South Tyrol Hills and that he had
found a number of drain tiles entering into this area which
created a, problem for his anticipated filling of the lot end
building upon it. He was informed by the Council that the
area was a, natural means of drsinage and it was suggested
that he consult ,,;ith a land engineer ^nd further with
the Council before progressing with any plans for "evelonment .
Trustee Reiss appeared and took his seat
The president stated that the main purpose of the meeting
was to discuss the feasability of securing a. new police carr.
Police Chief 1cGinnis reported that a new DeSoto two -door
would cost ';;
transportation company in the transportation of passengers
over a route serving Manor araa and a portion of the
villaue of Golden Valley lying south of Robbinedr.le described
as follows:
Starting at Zenith end 27th Avenue North, thence north
on Zenith Avenue to 30th Avenue North, thence west on 30th
Avenue North to Chowen Avenue North, thence North on Chow -en
Avenue North to 31st Avenue North, thence west on 31st
Avenue North to Ewing Avenue North, thence South on
Ewing Avenue North to 27th Avenue North, thence east on
27th Avenue to McNair Drive, thence south on Mcla,ir
Drive to 26th Avenue North, thence East on 26th Avenue
North to Zenith Avenue North, completing the circle of
McNair Manor; thence south on Zenith Avenue to Glenwood
Parkway, thence Southwesterly on Glenwood Parkway to
19th Avenue North, also known as County Road No. 6, thence
east to the Minneapolis City limits and into the bus
depot at 720 let Avenue 11orth as routed by the City Council,
and return over the same route completing the circle of
McNair Manor back to the starting point.
And that when such streets are paved and accessible
to bus traffic, the routeshall be over the -.oliow,ring: f---orr,
26th Avenue Borth south on Park View Drive to Valley
View Drive, thence east on Halley View Drive to Zenith
Avenue, completing the circle of Tint -air Manor, thence south
on Zenith Avenue to Glenwood Parkway, etc.
This alternate route to be in lieu of travel from
26th and Moo air Drive east to Zenith Avenue.
WHEREAS, it appears that the residents of Golden Va.iley
living in the above -designated area have need of.this
transportation service for tiF,hichs Certificate of Public
Convenience and zeecessity has been issued,
HE IT THERrFORF RESOLVED by the Village Council of
the Village of Golden Vailey that authority is hereby
granted North Hennepin Transit Company to operate as
an auto transportation eorrp,�?ny for the transportation of
passengers over such portion of the above-deignated route
as lies within the village limits of the Village of
Golden Va-t iey.
