A special meeting of the Village Council was held at the
village hall at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, June 28, with the
following members present: President Cordner, Trustees
Frandsen, Pinch, Putnam and Reiss. The meeting was called
to consider the sealcoating bids for Glenurban and Tyrol
Hills presented at the June 22nd meeting.
Mr. Minder reported that following consultation with Mr.
Samuelson of Jay W. Cr^ig Company an7 their visit to
the area it was determined that Jay 17. Craig would pro-
vide the blacktopping in the large areas to be surfaced
at (10.00 per ton, and that the 20.00 price would pertain
to the small patchwork. The Engineerstated that approxi-
mately 160 tons of blacktop material would be rec:uired,
over 757 of which would be used in resurfacing the larger
areas, and that the estimated cost of the blaoktopping and
patching would be approximately w1600.00, and recommended
that the buckshot sealcoat treatment be selected.
The following resolution was moved by Trustee Pinch, the
motion was seconded by Reiss and carried:
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID
WHEREAS, pursuant to advertisement for bids published in
the Ro'^binsd^le Post on June 10, 1948 for furnishing
labor and materials for improvement of the following
named streets insofar only as the same were originally
and are now surfaced with bituminous material:
The entire length of Westwood Drive,
The entire length of Janlyn Road,
The entire length of Glencrest Road,
The entire length of North Tyrol Trail,
The entire length of P.=rk View Terrace
except gravelled portions.,
Meadow Lane from its intersection v:ith
Glenwood Avenue south to its inter-
section .Nith Park View Terrace,
by patching and repairing, seal coating the same with
bituminous material, surfacing the same, and coverinr� the
curb anc� atter alonger id streets with bituminous material,
the followins bids have been duly received and. opened:

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the
Village of Golden Valley that Jay.W. Craig Company is hereby
determined to be the lowest responsible bidder, and the
president and clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
enter into a, contract with said Jay W. Craig Company in the
name of the Village, for the improvement of said portions
of said streets, according to the plans and specifications
therefor which have heretofor beenapproved by this Council
and filed in the office of the clerk at the price specified
in said bid, which said contract shall be approved as
to form by the Village Attorney.
-?E IT FURTHER RES'TE'D, that the Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits
mrde with their bids except .that the deposit of the successful
bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until
the contract has been signed.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen to adjourn the
special meeting; vv'as carried.
