December 8, 1948
Pursuant to due call a regular meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Golden Valley was held at the Village
Hall at 7:30 P.11.on Wednesday, December 8. The following mem—
bers were present: President Stasel; Trustees Frandsen, Pinch,
Putnam and Reiss.
Minutes of the meeting held November 30 were read and
on moticn by Reiss seconded by Pinch approved.
The clerk reported the following of'f'icial tabulations
of votes in the December 7 village election:

half be consolidated with St. Louis Park school District 99 182

Motion by Pinch seconded by Reiss to accept the returns
and declare the persons receiving the highest number of ballots
elected to the respective offices, carried.
There followed a continued discussion of the need for ?,
new truck for the road department and it was generally agreed
that a. 4 -wheel drive with 3 -'ion capacity would best fill the
need. Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen carried authorizing
the clerk to advertise as follows, bids to be opened December
21:
3 -Te Four-wheel drive truck with a minimum engine of
320'inches of piston displacement with the following equip-
ment: Minnesota: enofir plow lights; H l ater and defroster;
six 900-20 tires and a spare rim; Hydraulic dump box of
four to six yards capacity; one-way snow plow power lift.

Following the appearance of Mr. Abe Toles motion by Pinch
eec ncled by Heise was carried authorizing the clerk to instruct
Mr. Opdahl to open the culvert and to report direct to the
council the passage of anything other than surface drainage
through the culvert in the future.
Treasurer's report dated November 16 listed the following

Following discussion of financing and fund balances and
the clerk's report that the County Auditor's office had not
completely identified assessment recoveries, motion by Pinch
was seconded by NeisR and carried authorizing an overdraft
in Street Improvement #,2 Fund in order to meet January 1 bond
payment due, correction to be made following final report on
November tax settlement and analysis through the County
Treasurer's office of all assessment recoveries for the year
1948.

Trustee Reiss offered the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the contract submitted by the
Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board of the County of Hennepin
for the administration and supervision of poor relief in the
Village of Golden Valley be accepted and approved: and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the proper officers of
said Village of Golden Valley be directed to execute said
contracts in duplic=te and when executed to return one of
said contracts to the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board.
The question was on the adoption of the resolution and
the roll being called there were 5 yeas and no nays, as
follows: Frandsen, Pinch, Putnam, Reiss and Stasel - Yea;
and so the resoll.tion was adopted.
