December 21, 1948
Pursuant to ,due call a regular meeting of the Vilge Council
of Golden Valley was held at the Village Hall on Tuesday, December
21 at 7: 30 P .111.
Present were President Staeel, Trustees Frandse.z, Pinch
and Putnam; absent; Trustee Reiss.
Minutes of the December 8 meeting were read and on motion
by Pinch seconded by Frandsen approved.
The president announced that the meeting aa.s open to the
receiving of bir7_s f r the furnishing of s 4 -wheel drive truck.

Following reading of the bids, bidder's representatives
were allowed to present explanatory information, ana after
final tabulation end due consideration motion by Putnam to
accept the bid of Minnesota FVID Company on the Model HA
equi 2;)ed with St. Paul BR body and hoist, 4-5 yes. at x;`7103.00
less trade in of for a net price of! 5903-00 and to
authorize the return of checks to unsuccessful bidders ^yas
seconded by Frandsen and unanimously carried.
Yr. Carl Hipp opened discussion of additional pletting
West of the Belt Line and South of 19th Avenue, and was
requested to bring the information to the Planning Commission.
Following the reading of a proposal of December 15 from
L. W. Peterson and Sons, motion by Pinch me seconded by
Frandsen and carried, authorizing them to insule.te the ceiling
of the main garagearea of the fig:e: station at an. total net cost
of w579.70 and in view; of the urgency, to request them to commence
wtork as soon as possible.
There followeddiscussion of the advisability ofcontrolling
commercial development particularly adjacent to the proe)osed
site of the new ball park. The attorney was requested to draft
an amendment to the building ordinance making all requestEi for
permits of n commercial nature subject to review and approval
of the council.
Yotion by Putnam seconded by Pinch was carried to =ant
the issuance of cigarette licenses for the year 1949 to the

Motion by Frandsen was seconded by Putnam and carried
authorizing the treasurer to transfer the sum of X1553.98
to Street Improvement i'2 Fund and to hold in abeyance ads�_it icnal
transfers pending review of assessment recoveries for 1948.
Motion by Putnam seconded by Pinch to adjourn to January 4
was carried.
