07-01-52 Board of Tax ReviewJuly 1, 1952
The Council of the Village of Golden Valley met
a Board of Tax Review at the Village Hall at 6:P.M.
Tuesday, July 1, 1952, with the following members present:
Pinch, Putnam, Riess, Stark. Absent: Stasel.
In the absence of the Mayor, Acting Mayor Pinch
assumed the chairmanship of the meeting.
Also present were J. Gordon Boyer, Village Assessor,
and Roy Haeg, County Supervisor of Assessors.
Mr. Arthur Nelson of Tyrol Hills raised a question on
the high assessed valuation of his property and of several
other properties in Tyrol Hills, stating that such valua-
tions were about 25% too high. He suggested a revaluation
of all village property and that credit be given for older
homes on a depreciated rate. There was varied discussion
on taxing methods and tax bases used in Hennepin County.
After several persons requested that their homes be studied
for the possibility of revaluation, the Acting Mayor sug-
gested that a list of names of such persons requesting a
study be taken and given to the assessor for his further
study of their properties:
Arthur Nelson, 716 Meadow Lane S.
Chester Campbell, 700 Meadow Lane S.
C. C. Huebsch, 4600 Chatelain Terrace
Dr. W. D. Vehe, 1307 Tyrol Trail
Miss Frances B. Andrews, 615 Parkview Terrace
Stanley D. Kane, 417 Turnpike Road
D. D. Lucier, 817 Tyrol Trail
H. B. Morrison, 1315 Tyrol Trail
Harold Swenson, 416 Janalyn.Circle
John F. Mikucki, 801 Meadow Lane S.
In order to allow time for the assessor to make his
studies, it was suggested that the present meeting be ad-
journed to a meeting at a subsequent date, at which time
the matter would be discussed again. Motion by Putnam
seconded by Stark carried to adjourn the assessment hearing
to a continued hearing to be held on July 18 at 7:00 o1clock
p.M. at the Village Hall. f/
