of the
Village Council
April 13, 1954
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of
the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin
County, Minnesota, was held at the Villag* Hall in said Vil-
lage on the 13th day of April, 1954, at 7:3-0 P.M. The follow-
ing members were present: Huebsch, Rahn, Stark, Foss and Bies;
and the following members were absent: None.
Opening of Bids, Sanitary Sewer Interceptor: The Village Clerk
presented affidavits of publication of notice of intent to con-
struct a sanitary sewer facility within the Village of Golden
Valley, according to plans and specifications approved by this
Council on March 16th, 1954- Said affidavits were examined,
approved and ordered placed on file.
The Mayor announced that this is the time and the place for
opening and consideration of sealed bids for the construction
of said sanitary sewer facility in accordance with the notices
of advertisement for bids published by the Clerk and heretofore
presented to this Council.
The Clerk presented to the Council five (5) sealed bids sub-
mitted in the course of said notices. Said bids were then
opened, publicy read and considered. Said bids were found to
be as follows.-

MOVED by Rahn seconded by Foss carried that all of said bids
be laid on the table, and that the sanitary sewer engineers
be instructed to study and tabulate said bids, and to report
their findings to the Council on April 20, 1954.
Bassett's Creek Bridge: MOVED by Bies seconded by Rahn car-
ried that the Village Engineer study plans and specifications
submitted by the Minnesota State Highway Department for the
construction of a bridge over Bassettls Creek, and to report
his findings and recommendations to the Council on April 20,
1954.
Traffic Semaphores. T. H. x•12 and Turner's Crossroad: Member
Stark introduced the following resolution and moved its adop-
tion:
RESOLUTION REQUESTING INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS
TURNER'S CROSSROAD AND WAYZATA BOULEVARD
BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Golden Valley enter
into an agreement with the State of Minnesota, Department of
Highways for the following purposes, to wit:
Installation of traffic control signals at the in-
tersection of Turner's Crossroad and Wayzata Boule-
vard (Trunk Highway No. 12).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Clerk be
and they hereby are authorized to execute such agreement.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution
was duly seconded by Member Bies, and upon vote being taken
thereon the following members voted in favor thereof: Bies,
Foss $ Huebsch, Rahn, Stark; and the following voted against
the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted, and the Clerk's certification affixed to
said resolution. See Resolutions Book Page No. ZL_.
Meeting! The Mayor announced that Golden Valley had been asked
to attend a meeting with several other communities regarding
water problems on A-pril 22, 1954, at 6445 Lyndale Avenue, at
8:00 o'clock P.M.
Sanitary Sewers: MOVED by Rahn seconded by Bies carried that
the Administrative Assistant advise the Village of Crystal
that any future negotiations with regard to sanitary sewers
will be commenced without reference to any past negotiations
or proposals.
MOVED by Foss seconded by Bies carried that the meeting adjourn.
