09-13-54 Special Meeting1 SPECIAL MEETING of the VILLAGE COUNCIL September 13, 1954 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof'a Special Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held in said Village at 2200 Glenwood Parkway, on the 13th day of September, 1954" at 8:00 otclock P.M. The following members were present: Bies, Foss, Huebsch, Rahn and Stark, and the following were absent: None. The Magor called the meeting to order at 8:00 otclock P.M. Sanitary Sewers: Member Rahn introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: "Resolution Providing For A Public Hearing On Assessments For Sewer Improvement No. l.tt The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Stark and upon vote being taken thereon the following members voted in favor thereof: Bies, Foss, Huebsch, Rahn and Stark, and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk. See Resolutions Book page 1a3 G. M. Orr Engineering Company: Statement of Services: The Village Attorney reported that he was of the opinion that from his study of the contract between the G. M. Orr Engineering Company and the Village of Golden Valley, that the Village of Golden Valley was entitled to a credit of $129000.00, on the bill, and that at the present time he could recommend that the Village pay the total amount of the bill less $12,000.00. Re: Condemnation of Roads: The Council instructed the Administrative Assistant to Instruct the Village Attorney to proceed to condemn for street purposes, where necessary, those parcels of land in Audit_orts Sub -division No. 361, known as Shangri La Addition which are presently being used for road purposes. 1955 Budget., The Village Attorney submitted a letter dated September 13, 1954, said letter setting forth an alternative plan of compensation for the Village Attorney. No action was taken on the matter pending further study by the Council. The Council then proceeded to discuss various items of the budget, it being understood in each case that no final action was being taken on any particular budget request. Among items discussed was compensation for Councilmen, salaries of the Police Department, and various departmental budget requests. The Council unanimously agreed to meet on September 23, 1954" at 9:00 otclock P.M. at the Village Hall for the purpose of further discussing the 1955 budget requests. The Council agreed to meet with all five police patrolmen subject to a stipulation by Mayor Huebsch that the Council before meeting with the Police Department, set forth Council policies and Police Department rules and regulations.
