VILLAGE COUNCIL
March 8th, 1955
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was
held in the Village Hall in said Village on the 8th day of March, 1955,
at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Bies, Huebsch,
Rahn and Foss, and the following was absent: Member Stark; the Mayor called
the meeting to order at 7:40 o'clock P.M.
Appeals on Special Assessments Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1: (See
minutes of January 18th, 1955.) This meeting was called for the purpose
of hearing objections to the special assessments levied by reason of san-
itary sewer improvement No. 1 (trunk sewer).
Member Bies then introduced the following written resolution herein quoted
by title and MOVED its adoption: "RESOLUTION CONFIRMING REASSESSMEIiT ROLL".
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Foss and upon vote being taken thereon the following members voted
in favor thereof: Bies, Foff,, Huebsch, and Rahn; and the fallowing voted
against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature was attested by the
Clerk. See Resolutions Book page _2o 9 .
(Member Stark was absent.)
Extension of Prepayment Period: The Village Attorney advised the Council
that the Council could not change or modify state law in order to extend
the time for prepayment of special assessments without penalty.

With reference to Rule No. 5: Said rule is amended to read as follows:
"Assessments shall be computed upon the sum of the front line plus the rear
lot divided by two in only those cases where the front lot line exceeds by
15% the total length of the rear lot line."
By adding to said rules Rule No. 16: "Where a lot exceeds 18,750 square
feet and division into additional lot or lots is possible with or without
hardship waiver of said side lot, set back, or rear lot requirements, the
assessments shall be based on the street frontage plus the acreage charge
on the total less 18,750 square feet."
Re: Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1 Change Order No. 2: (See minutes
of January 18th, 19 MOVED by Foss seconded by Rahn carried to ratify
the action of the Administrator as previously authorized in approving
Change Order No. 2 relative to sanitary sewer improvement No. 1. Said

Change Order changes the route of the trunk sewer to conform with the plat
of Dawn Acres.
Appointment to Water Commission: The Administrator advised the Council
that the council would be required to appoint a new member to the Golden
Valley Water Commission at its meeting of March 15th, 1955.
Transfer of County Roads: The proposed transfer of certain county roads
to the Village of Golden, in particular the transfer of Glenwood Avenue
(Co. Rd. No. 40) between T.H. 100 and T.H. 55 wad discussed by the Ccuncil.
No action was taken.
MOVED by Dies seconded by Rahn carried that the meeting adjourn
