GOLDEN VALLEY
June 30, 1955
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof; the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley., Hennepin County, Minnesota, met as the Board of Review at the
Village Hall in said Village on the 30th day of June, 1955. The following
members were present: Bies, Foss, Nadasdy, and Stark; and the following mem-
ber was absent: Ratan. Present was Mr. William Pinch, Village Assessor and
Mr. Noy Haeg, County Supervisor of Assessments.
The Village clerk presented an affidavit of publication of Assessment Notice of
public meeting to be held at this time and place for the purpose of reviewing
and correcting the assessments of said Village of the year of 1955. Said affi-
davit was examined, approved and ordered placed on file.
The Mayor then called for any person who felt himself aggrieved by s aidassess-
ment to come forward and be heard. The following persons appeared before the
B oard and stated that they thought their assessed valuations were too high in
comparison with others.
Tax Abatement Northwest Bible School - KTIS: Mr. Lawrence Olson and Mr. Fred
omas appeared on behalf of orthwest ib a School requesting tax abatement
before the County Commissioner. The Council stated that had it not been for a
letter received from Northwestern Bible School September 2, 1948, stating that
they would not seek tax exemption, rezoning would not have been granted.
Mr.Pinch requested opinion from Board of Review on his status with #orthwest
Bible School.
MOVED by Foss seconded by Bies carried that Northwest Bible School's petition
for tax abatement be denied approval and so instruct the assessor.
The following thought their assessed valuations were too high.

Mr. M. M. Langum

The Council and Mr. Roy Haeg, County Supervisor of Assessments asked that these
people file a statement of facts with County Auditor and get a reply.
Mr. Hans Bees wished to know whether his property was assessed on an agricul-
ture basis or not.
The Board of Review suggested he file a stateaaent of facts with the County
Auditor and get a reply.
Olympia Street Improvement: Mr. Russell Smith and Mr. Grant were present. Mr.
mith stated that they felt this assessment was spread unfairly. The Council
asked Mr. Kane to check over Olympia assessment and see if it would be legal
to respread assessment over whole area benefitting by this improvement.
There was no other business before the Board. MOVED by Bies seconded by Stark
carried that the meeting adjourn.
