SPECIAL MEETING
of the
VILLAGE COUNCIL
May 9, 1956
Pursuant to clue call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, was held at the Village
Hall in said Village on May 9, 1956, at 7:30 o'clock P.M.
The following members were present: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, Teresi
and the following were absent: None
The Village Clerk presented an affidavit of publication in the official
newspaper of the notice of public hearing on a proposed street improvement
described in the resolution of this Council relating there of, adopted on
April 24, 1956. Said affidavit was examined, approved and ordered filed in
the office of the Village Clerk. The Mayor announced that the meeting was
open for public hearing on said proposed improvement and all persons present
were afforded oppprtunity to express their views thereon.
Member Rahn then introduced the following resolution and moved its adop-
tion:
":2ESOLUTION ORDERING ITIPROVEMEWT BY DAY LABOR"
WHEREAS, on April 26, 1956 and on May 3, 1956, an advertisement for bids
for a certain street improvement involving relaying of bituminous mat on pre-
viously paved streets in Trunk and Lateral Sewer District No. 1 was published
in the official newspaper of the Village on April 26, 1956 and May 3, 1956
pursuant to resolution of the Council dated April 17, 1956.
NCkl THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley, that the preparation for the and laying of said bituminous mat
is hereby ordered and the plans and specifications therefore heretofore sub-
mitted by the Village Engineer and hereby approved, and it is ordered and
directed that said improvement shall .be done by day labor pursuant to the pre-
visions of M.S.A. 429.041, Subd. 4, and the Village Engineer is hereby author-
ized and instructed to prepare and file with the Village Clerk from time to
time, complete reports of the progress of said work, including the cost of
material, labor and equipment, whether purchased or hired..
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly secon-
ded by Member Stark, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members
voted in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, Teresi and the follhwing

whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the
Mayor,. and his signature attested by the Clerk
