MOVED by Teresi seconded by Rahn carried that the reading of the minutes of
the meeting held on December 18, 1956, be dispensed with, and that said
minutes be approved as submitted to this Council prior to this meeting, un-
less some member of the audience wishes them read. (The minutes were not
read.)
Mr. Sandford, representative of the State Board of Electricity, appeared and
presented the Council copies of "LAW FOR REGULATING THE LICENSING OF ELEC-
TRICIANS AND FOR ELECTRICAL INSPECTORS". Mr. Sanford expressed the State
Board's desire to co-ordinate their minimum standard and licensing and bond-
ing requirements with those of municipalities. It was suggested that several
municipalities might jointly use the services of one full-time electrical
inspector.

official Village newspaper for 1957.
MOVED BY Teresi seconded by Rahn carried that the Lincoln Office, North-
western National Bank be designated as the depository for Village funds

for the year 1957; and that the Mayor, the Clerk, and the Treasurer be
designated to sign all checks, warrants and other fiscal documents, and
that these officers be authorized and directed to execute the proper
signature forms on resolutions supplied by the bank. The Golden Valley
State Bank was designated as the payroll depository for the year 1957.
Ordinance Licensing Christmas Tree Lots - Second Reading:
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Rahn carried to give a second reading to an
ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE TO LICENSE AND REGULATE THE SALE OF
CHRISTMAS TREES WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY, AND TO PROVIDE PEN-
ALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS".
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Rahn carried to approve the above ordinance
quoted by title on its second reading, and to order immediate publication
thereof. Member Stark voted "no". See Ordinance Book Page
.Ordinance Providing for Penalties for late Applications for Licenses -
Second Reading:
MOVED BY Bies seconded by Rahn carried to give a second reading to an
ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING A ftNALTY FOR LATE TENDER
OF LICENSE FEES".
MOVED by Rahn seconded by Teresi carried to approve the above ordinance
quoted by title on its second reading, and to order immediate publication

Minneapolis Park Board Ordinance - Second Reading:
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Rahn carried to give a second reading to an
ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE CODE (EXCEPTING
PARK BOARD PROPERTY FROM LICENSE AND CURFEW)."
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Stark carried to approve the above ordinance
quoted by title on its second reading, and to order immediate publication

Electrical Repairs for the Village for 1957:
Council discussed the feasibility of taking bids for all electrical repairs
for the Village of Golden Valley for the year 1957, on a time and material
basis. MOVED by Teresi seconded by Stark carried to advertise for bids
for all electrical work for the Village of Golden Valley for the year 1957.
Petroleum Products - Bids for the year 1957:
Council discussed the feasibility of taking bids for all petroleum products
to be used by the Village of Golden Valley on a unit cost basis for the
year.
MOVED by Stark seconded by Bies carried to advertise for bids for petroleum
products for the Village of Golden Valley for the year 1957.

Metropolitan Planning Commission:
Mayor Nadasdy, Administrator Owens and Engineer Fredrickson attended
a conference at the University d Minnesota, of the Metropolitan Plann-
ing Commission. Mayor Nadasdy reported a favorable recommendation
for the proposed plans of said commission.
MOVED by Stark seconded by Bies carried to endorse the plans of the
Metropolitan Planning Commission as submitted, and further that an ad-
dendum as recommended by the Administrator accompany the endorsement.
Plat - Trach's First Addition, Acceptance of Subdivision Bond:
MOVED by Bies seconded by Stark carried to accept an escrow check in
lieu of subdivision bond for the Plat of Trach's First Addition.
Conveyance of Tax Forfeited Land (Lots 31 & 35 Aud. Sub. #361):
Member Stark introduced and read the following written resolution herein
quoted by title and MOVED its adoption:
"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR CONVEYANCE OF TAX FORFEITED LAND"
The Motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Bies, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof:
Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, and Teresi;
and the following voted against the same: None.
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by
the Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk. See Resolutions Book

Mr. McNeil of 1015 Quebec Avenue North appeared and complained that
sewage from the residence of Mr. John Hill, his neighbor, was running
onto his property. Council instructed the Plumbing Inspector, Build-
ing Inspector, and Electrical Inspector to inspect the residence of
Mr. John Hill, at 1021 Quebec Avenue North and report back their find-
ings to the Council on January 15, 1957.
MOVED by Rahn seconded by Bies carried to authorize the Village Treasur-
er to invest Village funds -of sanitary sewer South Trunk #2 in United
States Treasury bills.
