SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE
VILLAGE COUNCIL
January 2, 1958
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was
held at 7830 Sixth Avenue North in said Village on January 2, 1958, at
8:00 o'clock P. M.
The following members were present: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer,
Teresi; and the following was absent: None.
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8:00 o'clock P. M.
Present were Acting Village Administrator and Clerk Donald Sorensen, Village
Attorney Stanley Kane, Village Treasurer C. W. Bryan, Finance Officer John
Murphy, Deputy Clerk Helen Penniman.
Re: Vacation pay, Mr. Royce W. Owens:
The Finance Officer reported that Mr. Owens time cards were to irregular
to be tabulated.
11DVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to deny the requested vacation
pay of Mr. Royce W. Owens. Member Scherer abstained.
Request for retroactive pay, Mrs. June Brandt:
Mrs. Brandt appeared and requested retroactive pay. The Council took no
action, but stated if lft-s. Brandt became re-employed by the Village in the
future, consideration would then be given for pay adjustment.
MVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried that no retroactive pay be
given any former employees.
Brookview Country Club legal action:
All present agreed to add the above matter to the agenda.
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried that the Council authorize the
Village Attorney to proceed with the Brookview Country Club case to the best
of his ability to protect the citizens of the Village of Golden Valley.
Resignation of Constable LeRoy Schuller:
All present agreed to add the above matter to the agenda.
A written resignation dated December 26, 1957, effective January 1, 1958, was
read and ordered placed on file in the Clerk's office.
MVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to accept the resignation of
Constable LeRoy Schuller effective January 1, 1958.

Special Meeting of the Village Council January 2, 1958
Council requested the Village Attorney to prepare a resolution authorizing
police officers to act as process servers. Said resolution to be presented
at the regular meeting on January 21, 1958.

A letter from the Fire Chief dated January 2, 1958, was read and ordered
placed on file.
The Council instructed the Village Attorney to write Sheriff Ed Ryan of
Hennepin County, requesting permission to transfer fire communications to
the Sheriff's Radio Tower.
Quarterly Staff Meeting with Village Council:
Council set the date of January 28, 1958, for the first quarterly meeting
with Department Heads.
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Bies carried to adjourn the meeting.
