MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the ordinance
herein quoted by title on its first reading.
MOVED by Scherer seconded by Bies carried to give a second reading to
the above entitled ordinance on the grounds that a public urgency exists.
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the ordinance
herein quoted by title on its second reading and to order publication
thereof. See Ordinance Book page j
Re Change, Orders, Patch and Erickson:
Council deferred the above matter to December 16, 1958.
Claim of Ira C. Maxwell, 4624 Sunset Ridge, driveway:
The Village Engineer read a letter dated November 25, 1958, from Mr. Maxwell.
Said letter was ordered placed on file in the Clerk's office. The Engineer
recommended that the Village pay for the concrete apron in the driveway.
MOVED by Bies seconded by Flannagan carried to approve payment for con—
crete apron upon the recommendation of the Village Engineer.
Second Reading, Ordinance, Street Name Changes:
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Teresi carried to give a second reading to
an ordinance entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE CODE AND CHANGING CERTAIN STREET
NAMES "

MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the ordinance
herein quoted by title on its second reading and to order publication

First Reading Parking Regulations Ordinance:
The Village Attorney presented the proposed Parking Regulations Ordinance.

Appointment of Fire Chief for 1959:
MOVED by Bies seconded by Flannagan carried to appoint Mr. Al Hanover as
Chief of the Fire Department for the year 1959, upon recommendation by
the Fire Department delegation.
Re: Meeting with Plymouth. Medicine Lake: Fire Protection:
The Administrator reported that the Village of Plymouth would like to
wait until January, 1959, for a meeting regarding fire protection with
Golden Valley.
Re: Meeting of Council with Planning Commission:
Council agreed to a joint meeting with the Planning Commission on December
11, 1958, at 9:00 o*clock P. M.
Automatic Voting Machines:
The Administrator presented a letter dated November 17, 1958, from the
Automatic Voting Machine Corporation. Said letter was ordered placed
on file in the Clerk*s office.
MOVED by Bies seconded by Scherer carried to advertise for bids for
additional voting machines on January 20, 1959.
Re: Friends of the Librarx of Golden Valley,Dedication of New Village Hall:
The Administrator presented a letter dated November 26, 1958, from the
Friends of the Library of Golden Valley. Said letter was ordered placed
on file in the Clerks office.
Villaze Directory, Suburban Press:
The Administrator gave a resume of approximate number of pages and cost
for publication of a Village directory to be published in February, 1959.
The Administrator reported the proposed director would contain approxi—
mately fourteen pages of Village information for an estimated cost of
$700.00.
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the publication
of the Village Directory containing approximately fourteen pages at a cost
not to exceed $800.00, and recommended the cost be held at $700.00 if
possible.
Special Meeting of the Village Council, December 1, 1958
Audit of Water Department Records:
All present agreed to add the above matter to the agenda.
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Bies carried to include an audit of the
Water Department with the annual Village audit.
Bills:
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Bies carried to instruct the Village Attorney
to submit a letter protesting the sewer rate to accompany the payment of
the quarterly sewer billing to the City of Minneapolis.
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the bills as
submitted on the prelist of bills.
Re: Building Permit of Ekberg. Petri — Office Buildine.
The Building Inspector presented samples of cement blocks proposed for the
construction of the above referenced building. Council reviewed the
building permit issued on November 20, 1958.
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Bies carried that the original requirement
to brick face the building stand as a requirement to issuance of said
building permit.
Canvass Board Meeting—December 2, 1958:
Council agreed to meet as a Canvass Board at 9:00 o'clock P. M. December
2, 1958,
Re: Amendment of Resolution Re: Brookview Country Club:
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Bies carried that that certain resolution
numbered 213 entitled "RESOLUTION AMENDING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT ROLL"
adopted October 28, 1958, be amended by striking therefrom the word
"deferred" where it occurs and substituting in lieu thereof the word
"cancelled".
