VILLAGE COUNCIL
December 221 1959
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was
held at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village on December 22, 1959, at
8:00 o'clock P. M.
The following members were present: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer,
and Teresi arrived at 8:40 P. M., the following was absent: None.
Present were Village Administrator and Clerk, Roger K. Ulstad; Village
Attorney, Stanley D. Kane; Building Inspector, Dan Lynch; Deputy Clerk,
Helen Penniman.
Industrial and Commercial Sewer Rates in the Villageā¢
The Administrator gave a report on sewer charges in Minneapolis and
Golden Valley with a comparison of residential and industrial rates.
The Village Attorney gave a resume of the legislative history of the
sewer district for the metropolitan area.
Council discussed the matter at length with representatives of industry
from Golden Valley. Council instructed the Administrator to contact the
suburban communities and their industries to arrange a meeting to obtain
general information and discuss the Metropolitan Sewer District Study.
The various state committees consisting of the following: Governor s
Advisory Committee on Suburban Problems, State Department of Business
Development, will be asked to send a representative to attend the
proposed meeting to be held during January or early February, 1960.
Letter_from.Civil Service Commission, Patrolman Otto Q Kraemerā¢
The Administrator presented a'letter from the Civil Service Commission
dated November 21, 1959. Said letter was ordered placed on file in the
Clerk's office.
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to approve the recommenda-
tion of the Civil Service Commission, that Otto Q. Kraemer be placed
on a permanent status as a patrolman.
Official Bond, A. Paul Lommen - justice of the Peace:
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Teresi carried to approve the Official
Bond and Oath for A. Paul Lommen, Justice of the Peace, in the amount
of $500.00 held by Anchor Casualty Company.

Attorneys Fees for 1959:
MOVED by Scherer seconded by Bies carried to approve the statement dated
December 8, 1959, submitted by the Village Attorney for fees during 1959.
Clover Leaf at Highway No. 18 and No. 55:
MOVED by Bies seconded by Flannagan carried to request the Highway Depart-
ment to proceed with construction of the clover leaf at Highway No. 18 and
No. 55.
MOVED by Scherer seconded by Bies carried to adjourn the meeting at
11:00 P. M.
