REGULAR MEETING
of the
VILLAGE COUNCIL
June 21, 1960
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a
Council of the Village of Golden Valle ' regular meeting of the Village
held at 7800 Golden Valley Road ,� y' Hennepin County, Minnesota, was

The Village Manager presented an affidavit of publication in the official
newspaper of the notice of public hearing on the

and the East 15 feet of lot 164 on June 16, 1960. These two lots were
purchased during 1955, prior to the merger of title ordinance, which was
adopted February 2, 1956. Mr. Eugene Bloomgren, 6733 Winsdale Street, stated
this is the same thing they are fighting in this area, all house and no yard.
Mr. Hans Garnes, 6801 Knoll street also appeared and protested the construc-
tion of said house, stating it would depreciate homes in the area.
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Teresi carried to defer action pending
approval of the title search by the Village Attorney, to July 6, 1960.
Council request the Building Inspector to stop construction on said lot
until July 6, 1960.

The Village Manager presented the requests for public hearing on the above
referenced location for rezoning.
MOVED by Flannagan seconded by Teresi carried to call a public hearing for zoning
on the above referenced properties on July 19, 1960.
Request for Public Hearing - Sanitary Sewer (60 -LF):
Council tabled the matter.
Re: Time Set for Meeting of Board of Review:
The Village Manager informed the Council that July 12, 1960 at 7:30 P. M. in the
Council Chambers is the time set for the meeting of Board of Review.
Water Project Committee Meeting: All present agreed to add the above matter to
the agenda. The Village Manager informed the Council of a meeting of the Water
Project Committee on July 12, 1960, at 8:15 P. M. at the Village Civic Center.
Relocation of Golden Valle.X S hoping Center Sign:
The Building Inspector presented the request to relocate the sign for the Golden
Valley Shopping Center. After discussion Council deferred approval to the
meeting of July 6, 1960.
Discussion of Municipal Court:
The Village Manager presented a survey of adjacent municipalities regarding
municipal and justice courts. Said survey was ordered placed on file in the
Clerkts office.

Mr. Paul Lommen, Justice of the Peace, appeared before Council. Mr. Lommen
stated he was in favor of a municipal court for Golden Valley.
MOVED by Bies seconded by Scherer carried to instruct the Village Attorney
to draw up the necessary resolution providing for a municipal court for
future Council action.
Letter from Hennepin County Highway Department - CSAH #66:
The Village Engineer referred to a letter dated May 2, 1960? from the
Hennepin County Highway Department and requested a resolution regarding
an agreement between the Village of Golden Valley and Hennepin County
to construct CSAH #66 through an interchange at T.H. #100 in 1961.
Member Bies introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Scherer, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members
voted in favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer, and Teresi;
and the following voted against the same: None,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by
the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Clerk. See Resolutions Book

Resolution Ordering Dust Treatment for Certain Streets:
Member Flannagan introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
"RESOLUTION ORDERING DUST TREATMENT FOR CERTAIN STREETS"

Motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Bies and, upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer, and Teresi;
and the following voted against the same: None,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed

Re: Terra Linda Trunk Storm Sewer:
The Village Engineer presented a letter dated May 31, 1960, from Otto
Bonestroo & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers for New Hope and
Crystal regarding the proposed trunk storm sewer in the vicinity of
Winnetka Avenue and Medicine Lake Road.
The Council has this problem under consideration at the present time, and
until it has been resolved are not prepared to meet with New Hope.

The Village Manager submitted a request for appropriations for the Swimming
Pool Committee.
MOVED by Bies seconded by Scherer carried to recognize requests for funds
as they are presented, and approved the addition of three names to the
committee as follows: Mr. Ken Rahn, Mr. Emil Behrens. and Mrs. Audrey Parish.
Area Water Shed Committee:
All present agreed to add the above matter to the agenda.
MOVED by Teresi seconded by Flannagan carried to appoint Member Bies the official
member representing the Council on the Area Water Shed Committee.
Bills:
MOVED by Scherer seconded by Bies carried the bills as submitted on the
prelist.
