SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE
CITY COUNCIL November 30, 1977
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof , a special meeting of the City Council
of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was held at 7800
Golden Valley Road in said City on November 30, 1977 at 7:30 p.m.
The following members were present: Anderson, Hoover, Johnson, Swartz and Thorsen.
Also present was Assistant City Manager, Jeff Sweet; Assistant Allen Barnard,
and Council. Secretary, Kathy Middleton.
Mayor Hoover called the meeting to order and stated this special meeting was
called to continue the deliberation of the P.U.D. #21.
Mayor Hoover introduced Mr. Ray Stockman as our new councilmember for a four
year term beginning with the first meeting in January.
Additional letter of testimony received in the mail were noted as received from
Wallace Marx and Golden Valley Lutheran College.
Four basic concerns discussed by the Council were:
1) Level of use of the property if rezoning is proposed.
2) The matter of zoning that property for commercial use even on a temporary basis.
3) The appropriateness useing of the P.U.D. in such circumstances
4) Control of the enforcement process under a P.U.D. and how to deal with it.
MOVED by Thorsen, seconded by Johnson and carried to deny the request by the Elks
Club of the P.U.D. #21. Mayor Hoover voted nay.
