Barbara Juliar, 3037 Kyle Ave. was present and elaborated her concerns expressed
at the first public hearing.
Harold Adams, Director of the Charity Review Council, was also present and
expressed his concerns regarding restrictions on charities which increased the
cost of fund raising.
MOVED by Thorsen, seconded by Stockman and carried to approve the solicitation
ordinance on its second reading with the minor changes to Sections 842:00 (c)
and 842:35 (a) and (b). Upon roll call vote the following voted as follows:
ANDERSON - YES HOOVER - YES STOCKMAN - YES THORSEN - YES
Meeting with Safety Council Chairperson
Geroge Muriad was in attendance representing the Safety Council. He reviewed the
stop sign policy which the Safety Council had developed. Jim Crawford, Director of
Public Safety, and Lowell Odland presented their opinions regarding the
proposed policy. The City Manager agreed to provide the Council with an
estimate of when a review of all the stop signs and their compliance with the
State warrants could be completed. This report would be presented to the Council
at its November 20, meeting.
Interviews for Northwest Human Services Advisory Board
The Council interviewed Ruth King -Smith.

City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin

notice given at the meeting
of November 6, 1978.
The following members were
present: Anderson, Hoover,
Stockman and Thorsen.
Also present were: City Manager, Jeff Sweet; Attorney,
Allen Barnard and
Secretary, Sue Ann Oman.
