Regular Meeting

City Council
February 19, 1980
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, was held at 7800 Golden Valley Road,
in said City on February 19, 1980 at 6:30 P.M.
The following members were present: Anderson, Johnson, Mitchell, Stockman and Thorsen.
Also present were: City Manager, Jeff Sweet, Attorney, Robert Skare, City Engineer,
Lowell Odland and Secretary, Terri Schroetke.

MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Mitchell and carried to approve the minutes of February
4, 1980 as amended:
Page 25, Council Position on T.H. 12: Amend Policy Statement to include
changes requested by task forces, as follows:
In the Highway 12 corridor, the Golden Valley City Council supports the
the following combination:
1. Two continuous driving lanes in each direction augmented by light
rail transit within the T.H. 12 corridor.
2. Limited access through the provision of grade separated interchanges
frontage roads, and collector -distributor roads, the number, location,
and design of which the City Council will develop a position on after
consideration of the report by the T.H. 12 Commission, appointed in
1978.
3. Immediate efforts by the City Council to lobby federal, state, and
metropolitan agencies to assure that current interstate funding
deadlines do not prelude selection of a light rail transit component.

to read as follows: ". . . and carried to approve the request for proceeding to
acquire a building permit in the T.H. 12 Moratorium area ."
