of the
City Council
October 14, 1986
• Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council
of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7800 Golden
Valley Road in said City on October 14, 1986 at 5:41 PM.
The following members were present: Anderson, Bakken, Stockman and Thompson
and the following was absent: Johnson. Also present were: William J oynes,
City Manager; Allen Barnard, Assistant City Attorney, and Pat Butler, Secretary.
Informal Public Hearing - Approval of Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) -
Golden Hills, Phase I, The Colonnade
William J oynes reviewed the background of the EAW and stated comments were
received from Minnesota Historical Society, Department of the Army and MnDOT.
Mark Grimes, Director of Planning and Development, stated the DNR has also sent
comments and he answered questions from the Council.
The Mayor opened the meeting for public input and persons present to do so were
afforded the opportunity to express their views thereon. Hearing and seeing no
one, the Mayor closed the public hearing.
Member Stockman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION OF NEGATIVE DECLARATION ON THE
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET (EAW)
• FOR THE COLONNADE, HOTEL AND PARKING RAMP
IN THE GOLDEN HILLS REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Thompson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Stockman and Thompson, and the following was
absent: Johnson, voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was
declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested
by the Deputy City Clerk. See Resolution Book Pages
Mike Perelstein, 5121 Circle Down, arrived at the meeting afte the action was
taken and requested a couple day's extension to allowhis attorney time to com-
ment on the worksheet.
William Joynes recommended Mr. Perelstein's comments be presented during the
Indirect Source Permit process.
