40 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7800 Golden
Valley Road in said City on June 25, 1991 at 6:30 PM.
The following members were present: Bakken, Johnson, Russell, Stockman and
Thompson. Also present were: William Joynes, City Manager; Lowell Odland,
Director of Public Works; Allen Barnard, City Attorney; and Judy Nally,
Administrative Secretary.

Approval of Agenda
MOVED by Russell, seconded by Thompson and motion carried unanimously to approve

William Joynes answered questions regarding the license.

the hiring of Robert Ellers Associates to provide electrical consulting services
for the Winnetka Avenue improvements at $60.00 per hour for an amount not to
exceed $6,000.00.

*Request Submitted by U. S. West Cellular Communications to Withdraw their
Application for Rezoning to Radio and Television Zoning District for the
Southwest Corner of Brookview Golf Course
MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Thompson and motion carried unanimously to receive
and file the letter from David W. Larson, David W. Larson & Associates; dated
May 30, 1991 withdrawing the application for rezoning submitted by U. S. West
Cellular Communications' and cancel the public hearing scheduled June 25, 1991.

Update on Pull Tab Ordinance
William Joynes updated the Council on the draft ordinance.
MOVED by Stockman, seconded by Russell and motion carried unanimously to authorize
staff to meet with the organizations effected by the proposed gambling ordinance
and report back to the Council in July or August.
Announcements of Meetings
Mayor Bakken and Council Members Johnson and Thompson recently returned from the
League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference in Rochester and stated the meeting
was worthwhile and successful. Council Member Thompson informed the Council
that Mayor Bakken was elected as Vice President of the League.
Council Member Russell informed the Council the Golden Valley Senior Center
received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Metropolitan Council's Advisory
Committee on Aging which was presented to Barbara Bailey by Mary Anderson, Chair
on May 24, 1991. The Council requested that Mayor Bakken send a letter of
congratulations to Barbara Bailey.
