Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting ng of the City Council
of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7800 Golden
Valley Road in said City on May 12, 1992 at 6:30 PM.
The following members were present: Bakken, Johnson, Russell, Stockman and
Thompson. Also present were: William Joynes, City Manager; Fred Salsbury,
Director of Public Works; Allen Barnard, City Attorney; and Judy Nally,
Administrative Secretary.

MOVED by Johnosn, seconded by Russell and motion carried unanimously to receive
and file the Council/Manager Meeting minutes of April 13, 1992 as submitted.
MOVED by Thompson, seconded by Stockman and motion carried unanimously to receive
and file the City Council minutes of April 14, 1992 as submitted.
Approval of Agenda
MOVED by Thompson, seconded by Johnson and motion carried unanimously to approve
the agenda of May 12, 1992 as submitted.

Craig Starbird, Applicant, requested approval of the conditional use permit.
Warren Kapsner, Planning Commissioner, presented the Commission report.
The Mayor opened the meeting for public input and persons present to do so were
afforded the opportunity to express their views thereon. Hearing and seeing no
one, the Mayor closed the public hearing.

• Authorization to Sign Construction Cooperative Agreement with Hennepin County
for Overlay on Douglas Drive
Fred Salsbury introduced the agenda item.
MOVED by Stockman, seconded by Thomspon and motion carried unanimously to authorize
the Mayor and Manager to enter into Construction Cooperative Agreement PW
24-13-92 with Hennepin County and authorize payment of the city's portion for
overlay on Douglas Drive (CSAH 102).
*Quotes - Dump Truck Body and Hydraulics
MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Russell and motion carried unanimously to purchase
one dump truck body and hydraulic system from the lowest responsible bidder,
Midland Equipment Company for $5,243.00. The quotes were as follows:

L -Z Company, Inc. 5,477.00
MacQueen Equipment, Inc. 5,891.00
*Quotes - Seeman Park Playground Equipment
MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Russell and motion carried unanimously to authorize
the purchase and installation of playground equipment at Seeman Park from the
lowest responsible bidder, E. F. Andersen for $14,975.00. The quotes were as
follows:

Announcements of Meeting
The AMM Annual Meeting is May 20, 1992 at the Radisson Hotel St Paul. Council
Members were asked to notify staff if they plan on attending.
Mayor's Communications
Mayor Bakken stated he will review his correspondence and refer to staff and
Council if appropriate.
*Proclamation for Arbor Day Celebration
MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Russell and motion carried unanimously to proclaim
May 14, 1992 as Arbor Day in Golden Valley.
