REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
1.Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:47pm by Vice ChairBlack.
2.Roll Call

3.Approval of Agenda
MOTION made byCommissioner Aaron Blackand seconded by Commissioner EstherBlackto
approve the January 10, 2022regular meeting agenda.Motion carried unanimously.
4.Approval of Minutes –November 8, 2021
MOTION made byCommissioner Aaron Blackand seconded byCommissioner McCormickto approve
the November 8, 2020regular meeting minutes.Motion carried unanimously.
5.Old Business
A.Budget
Commissioner Aaron Black gave an update on the budget, which looks good considering the
challenges related to COVID.
B.CouncilMeeting Update from December 7, 2021
Commissioner Aaron Black said that he and Commissioner La Mere Anderson, attended the
December 7, 2021Council meeting to present the GVHSC budget and allocation request to
the Council. The items they sharedincluded budget reserves, allocations, fundraising events,
and 2022goals.He also said they thanked the Council for their continued support of the
Human Services Commission.
6.New Business
A.Chair and Vice Chair selection
With the resignation of Commissioner Denise La Mere Anderson, who was elected to City
Council, a new Chair and possible Vice Chairwill need to be elected. Commissioner Aaron
Black, current Vice Chair, was elected unanimously as Chair, and Commissioner McCormick
was unanimously elected to Vice Chair.

B.Run the Valley – Saturday, April 23, 2022
Staff member Ericksonshared past registrationinformation with the Commission. It was
decided to increase the registration fees in 2022. Fees for 2022 are: $40 by February 28, $45
March 1-April 22, and $50 the day of the race. The walk will remain at $25 and the Kid’s Fun
Run will remain at $5.
Sponsorships were discussed and information from 2021 was distributed. A goal of $8,000
was set for dollars raised by sponsorships.
C.Green Classic
With the success of the changes made in 2021 to just a lawn bowling event, it was decided
to continue with the same event for 2022. The Lawn Bowling Greens Classic will take place
Sunday, August 14, 2022.
D.February Meeting
Due to schedule conflicts, the February meeting has been moved to Monday, February 21.
7.Adjournment
MOTION moved byCommissioner AaronBlack and seconded by Commissioner McCormick to
adjourn at 7:41pm. Motion carried unanimously.
