Member Stark introduced and read the followig written
resolution and moved its adoption.
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED SEWER IMPROVEMENT
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Ses-
sion Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct
a sewer improvement within the Village as stated in the form of
notice included in paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Village Engineer has reported to the Council ad-
vising it in a preliminary way that the proposed sewer improve-
ment is feasible and should best be made as proposed and not in
connection with some other improvement, and has given his es-
timated cost of the improvement as follows:
Proposed sewer improvement $ 46,000.00
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place speci-
fied in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for
the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed sewer
improvement as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorised and directed to cause notice
of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting to be published
for two successive weeks in the North Iiennepin Post, the offi-
cial newspaper of the Village, the first of such publications
to be in the issue of said paper dated August 200 and the sec-
ond of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated
August 27, 1953• Such notice shall be in substantially the fol-
lowing form.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED SEWER IMPROVEMENT
Notice is hereby given that the Village Council of the Vil-
lage of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on
Tuesday, the lst day of September, 1953, at 8100 otclock P.M.
at the Village Hall in said Village, for the purpose of holding
a public hearing on a proposed sanitary trunk sewer improvement
to serve the northeast portion of the Village, and to follow the
following course;
from a point on the Golden Valley -Crystal Village
boundary line 160 feet north of the intersection of
Bassettts Creek and Trunk Highway 100, along the
north side of the creek to a point on the west side
of the Great Northern right-of-way opposite Manor
Drive; thence east to the intersection of Zenith Aven-
ue, and 23rd Avenue North; thence east along 23rd
Avenue North to the Golden Valley Village limits;
thence (in Minneapolis) to 24th Avenue North and Vin-
cent Avenue North.
The cost of said improvement to Golden Valley is estimated to
be $46,000.00.
The area to be served by and proposed to be assessed for
said improvement includes all lots and tracts of land within
the following boundaries:
starting at 34th Avenue North and Trunk Highway 100
and extending south along Trunk Highway 100 to the
M. N. and S. Ry.; thence east to Judicial Ditch No. 6;
thence in a northeasterly direction along the low
ground bounding Sweeney Lake to a point approximately
100 feet east and south of the intersection of Noble
Avenue and Golden Valley Road; thence easterly along
Golden Valley Road to its intersection with France
Avenue North; thence south along France Avenue North
to Glenwood Hills Hospital and including the hospital
property; thence south to the south line of Section
18, Township 29, Range 24; thence due east to Victory
Memorial Drive; thence northeasterly along Victory
Memorial to its intersection with 17th Avenue North;
thence due e�R$t to the Golden Valley limits; thence
north and west along the Village limits to the start-
ing point on Trunk Highway 100.
The Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority
granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws of 1953, and invites
any and all persons to appear at the time and place of said
hearing and be heard with reference to said improvement.
