#022 10-06-53 Request Remedial Th 55 & 6th Ave NResolution No. 22 October 6, 1953 Member,Reiss introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION REQUESTING REMEDIAL ACTION re T. H. 55 and SIXTH AVENUE NORTH WHEREAS, The route of T. H. 55 bisects State Aid Road No. 25 (Sixth.Avenue North) at two locations, and obliterates a portion of S.A.R. 25, within the Village of Golden Valley, and WHEREAS, Said bisection and obliteration of S.A.R. 25 has created two traffice hazards, with resultant vehicular traffic accidents, and WHEREAS, Failure to construct a street to connect the re- maining portions of S.A.R. 25 will continue known existing traffice hazards, and will, furthermore, isolate two business districts of the Village of Golden Valley, and WHEREAS, This Council proposes the remedial construction of a bridge and approximately one-quarter mile of street, as aforesaid, and thus eliminate the traffice hazards, but lacks funds with which to proceed, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, That the State of Minnesota and the County of Hennepin be, and hereby are, petitioned to make funds avail- able for the construction of said bridge and portion of street, and that toward this end the Commissioner of Highways for the State of Minnesota and the Highway Engineer for the County of Hennepin confer with the officials of the Village of Golden Val- ley at the earliest practicable moment. Mayor Attest: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Foss, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Foss, Rahn, Reiss, Stark, Stasel; and the following voted against the same: None; w4ereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, and was signed by the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Clerk. 1 74
