#028 11-17-53 Adopt Assessments Turner's Crossroad No. 17Resolution No. 28 November 17, 1953 Member Reiss introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND 'CONFIRMING ASSESSMENTS FOR TURNERTS CROSSROAD PORTION OF 1953 STREET IMPROVEMENT NO. 17 BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The amount proper and necessary to be specially as- sessed for the Turnerts Crossroad portion of 1953 Street Im- provement No. 17 against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land affected thereby has been duly calculated upon the basis of benefits, without regard to cash valuation, in ac- cordance with the provisions of Minnesota Session Laws of 1953, Chapter 398, and notice has been duly published, as required be law, that this Council would meet to hear, consider and pass upon all objections, if any, and said proposed assessment has at all times since its filing been open for public inspection, and an -opportunity has_been given to all interested persons to .present their objections, if any, to such proposed assessments and said proposed assessment has been amended as to certain parcels of land, by resolution duly adopted this date. 2. This Council, having heard and considered all objections so presented, and being fully advised in the premises, finds that each of the lots, pieces and parcels of land enumerated int he proposed assessment as so amended was and is specially bene- fited by the construction of said improvement in not less than the amount of the assessment set opposite the description of each such lot, piece and parcel of land, respectively, and such amount so set out is hereby levied against each of the respec- tive lots, pieces and parcels of land therein described. 3. The proposed assessments as amended are hereby adopt- ed and confirmed as the proper special assessments for each -of said lots, pieces and parcels of land respectively, and the as- sessment against each parcel, together with interest at the rate of 6% per annum accruing on the full amount thereof from time to time unpaid, shall be a lien concurrent with general .taxes upon such parcel and all thereof. The total amount of each such assessment shall be payable in equal annual install- ments-� together with interest on the entire assessment from the date hereof to December 31, 1954, to be payable with gen- eral tares for the year 1953, collectible in 1.951, and one of each of the remaining installments, together with one yearts interest on that and all other unpaid installments, tb_:be pay- able with general taxes for each consecutive year thereafter until the entire assessment is paid. „extending over a period of 10 years, the first of said install- ments 2 4- Prior to certification of the assessment roll to the County Auditor the owner of any lot, piece or parcel of land assessed hereby may at any time pay the whole of such assess- ment, without interest, to the Village Treasurer. 5. The Clerk shall, as soon as may be, prepare and trans- mit to the County Auditor a certified duplicate of the assess- ment roll, with each installment and interest on each unpaid assessment set forth separately, to be extended upon the proper tax lists of the County, and the County Auditor shall there- after collect said assessments in the manner provided by law. Acting Mayor Attest: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Foss, and upon vote being takenthereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Rahn, Reiss, Stark, Foss; and the following voted against the same: None (Mayor Stasel was absent); whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, and signed by the Acting Mayor, which was attested by the Clerk. 1
