#036 02-16-54 Provide Public Hearing Sewer ImprovementResolution No. 36 February 16, 1954 Member Rahn introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED SEWER IMPROVEMENT BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, as follows: 1. It is hereby found and determined that G. M. Orr En- gineering Company, Engineers, have heretofore reported to this Cotincil that a sewer improvement for the Village as hereinafter described is feasible and may best be made as proposed, and that the estimated cost of said improvement to the Village is $405,000.00 if constructed by and for Golden Valley alone, and the estimated cost to Golden Valley if constructed jointly with other neighboring municipalities is $350,000-00- 2. This Council shall meet at the time and place speci- fied in the form of notice included in paragraph 3 hereof for tbepurpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed con- struction of a sewer system as therein described. 3. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,. place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks, in the North Hennepin Post, being the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publica- tions to be not less than 10 days and the second not less than 3 days prior to the date of said meeting. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED SEWER IMPROVEMENTS VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY, MINNESOTA NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, the 2nd day of March, 19542 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the Village Hall in said Village, for the purpose of holding a public hearing on proposed sewer improvements, as follows: 1. A trunk sewer to be constructed in Minneapolis and Theodore Wirth Park and in the Village of Golden Valley, con- necting to the Minneapolis sewer system and providing an out- 6 -t� let for sewers in the Village of Golden Valley. If possible, said trunk sewer will be constructed under cooperative agree- ments with one or more neighboring suburban municipalities, in which case it will be built of sufficient size to serve as an outlet for sewers in such municipalities as well as in Golden Valley, but the Village Council proposes to proceed with con- struction of said trunk sewer with or without participation by neighboring municipalities. Preliminary plans for said improve- ment have been prepared and are open to public inspection attktlte office of the Village Clerk, The estimated cost of said im- provement if undertaken by Golden Valley alone is $105000.00, and the estimated cost of said sewer to Golden Valley if under- taken jointly with one or more neighboring municipalities will be approximately 0350,000.00. The area proposed to be assessed for said trunk sewer will be Proposed Sewer District No. 1 of the Village, which consists of all the area of the Village lying north of the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Railway tracks and east of Trunk Highway No. 100. 2. A portion of the cost of said improvement to .Golden Valley will be specially assessed against said area and the re- mainder of Golden Valleyts share of said cost will be paid out of general ad valorem taxes levied on all taxable property in the Village. In the making of the sewer improvements above described the Village proposes to proceed under the authority of Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws of 1953• Any and all persons are invited to I 1 appear at the time and place of said hearing and be heard with reference.to said improvements.
