RESOLUTION ADOPTED

Member Rahn introduced and read the following written
resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC
HEARING ON PROPOSED STREET AND
SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS
BE IT RESLOVED by the Village Council of the Village
of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398,
Session Laws of Minnesota, 19530 this Council proposes to
construct certain street improvements and a sidewalk and
street improvement within the Village as stated in the
form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Village Engineer has reported to the Council
advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed street
improvements and the proposed sidewalk and street improve-
ments are feasible and that each should best be made as
proposed and not in connection with some other improve-
ment, and has given his estimated costs of the improve-
ments as follows:
Proposed street improvements, $160,895.00
Proposed sidewalk and street improvement, $50t45040
3. The Council shall meet at the -time and place
specified in the form of notice included in paragraph 4
hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the
proposed street improvements and the proposed sidewalk
and street improvement as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause no-
tice of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting to be
published for two successive weeks in the North Hennepin
Post, the official newspaper for the Village, the first of
such publications to be in the issue of -.said paper dated
June 17, and the second of said publications to be in the
issue of said paper dated June 24, 1954, Such notice shall
be in substantially the following form:
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED STREET AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS
Notice is hereby given that the Village Council of the
Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will
meet on the 6th day of July, 19544 at 7:30 otclock P.M.

at the Village Hall in said Village$ at which time and place
a public hearing will be held on certain proposed street
improvements and a sidewalk and street improvement which will
be considered at said public hearing, which improvements are
discribed below$ all in accordance with preliminary plans.
and estimates now on file in the office of the Village Clerk.
Each of said improvements will be sepatately considered and
are separately numbered below.
The Village Engineer estimates that the entire cost
of the improvements will be $211045-00. The improvements
are subdivided as follows:
Establishing and changing the grade, opening$
grading$ and gravelling$ and installing pavement
of bituminous or other suitable material and
making such changes.in surface drainage as may
be necessary$ and providing ways and means for the
disposal of surface water and installing such curb.
and gutter as may be found necessary on the following
streets:
1. The entire length of Hanley Road.
Ridgeway Road from its intersection with Winnetka Avenue
to its intersection with Hanley Road,
2.- Ensign Avenue North from Trunk.HighwaY 55 to Wally Street.
Wally Street from Ensign Avenue North to Decatur Avenue
North.
Decatur Avenue North from Wally Street to Trunk Highway

3, Xenia Avenue North from its intersection with St. Croix
Avenue southerly to its intersection with Golden Valley
Road.
Welcome Avenue from its intersection with Xenia Avenue
North to its intersection with Golden Valley Road. .
4- Regent Avenue North from its intersection with Golden
Valley Road northerly to its intersection with Minnaqua
Avenue.
The entire 16ngth of Sorell Avenue in Westurban.
The entire length of Ordway in Westurban.
The entire length of Orchard Avenue North in Westurban.
The entire length of Markey Ridge in Westurban.
The entire length of Windsor Way in Westurban.
The entire length of Westbend Road in Westurban.

5. 27th Avenue North from its intersection with Noble Ave -
North to its intersection with Kyle Avenue North,
6, Douglas Drive North from its intersection with Golden
Valley Road northerly to its intersection with St.
Croix Avenue.
Changing and establishing the grade, grading, gravelling,
oiling, and masking such changes in the drainage of
surface water as may be found necessary on the following
described streets:
7. Winsdale Street from its intersection with Hampshire
Avenue North to its intersection with Douglas Avenue
North.,
Olympia Street from its intersection with Jersey Avenue
North to its intersection with Douglas Drive North.
Winsdale Street from its intersection with Jersey Avenue
North to Douglas Drive North.
Knoll Street from its intersection with Jersey Avenue
North to Douglas Drive North.
Plymouth Avenue from its intersection with Jersey Avenue
North to its intersection with Florida Avenue North.
Phoenix Street from its intersection with Hampshire
Avenue North to its intersection with Douglas Drive North,
Florida Avenue North from its intersection with Golden
Valley Road to its intersection with Olympia Street.
Opening, grading, changing, and establishing the
grade, gravelling and making such changes in surface`
drainage as may be necessary on the following descri-
bed street:
d 8. Jersey Avenue North from the southern boundary of 6th
Avenue North (State Aid Road No. 25) southerly to the
northern boundary of Trunk Highway No. 55.
9, Plymouth Avenue from its intersection with Hampshire
Avenue North to its intersection with Florida Avenue
North.
Repairing, and/or replacing present bituminous
paving, sealcoating, and installing concrete
curb and gutter where it is not now installed
on the following described street:
10. Ottawa Avenue South from its intersection with
Glenwood Avenue to its southerly terminus.
Concrete and/or bituminous sidewalks and appuranant.

street regrading and repaving on the following described
street:
11. As to. sidewalk on the east side on Noble Avenue from its
intersection with 29th Avenue North northerly to its
intersection with 34th Avenue North, and on the west
side of Noble Avenue from its intersection with 29th
Avenue North southerly to its intersection with Ordway;
and, as to street repairing and regrading on Noble Avenue
Forth from 34th Avenue North to Ordway.
In conducting said public hearing for making decisions
on the proposed improvements, the Village Council proposes
to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398,
Minnesota Laws for 1953•
All property within the Village which is benefited by
the improvement is proposed to be assessed for such Improve-
ment as follows: All i5roperty abutting on the above
described 'streets and portions of streets and in the case
of improvement numbered 11 above, all property abutting on
both sides of Noble Avenue North from 34th ,Avenue North to
Ordway and all property in School District No. 24 t4ithin the
Village of Golden Valley. All owners of such property are
hereby notified to be present at said public hearing, there
to make known their objections to such proposed Improvements,
if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution
was duly seconded by Member Stark and upon vote being taken
thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Rahn,
Huebsch, Foss, Stark and the following voted against the
same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested
by the Clerk.
