#064 08-17-54 Initiate Automatic Time DeviceResolution No. 64 August 17, 1954 Member Ratan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION INITIATING THE USE OF AUTOMATIC TIME DEVICE AND REGULATING USE OF SAME WHEREAS, an accurate record'of the hours of work of employees is indispensable to the preparation of payroll and personnel records, and it is to the best interest of employees and the public that said records be accurately and efficiently prepared., and, WHEREAS, an automatic time recording machine has been found to be the most accurate and economic method of accomplishing the above objective, now, thereforr'e, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT it shall be the responsibility of each employee of the Village of Golden Valley to record by means of an automatic timing d6vice, to be furnished by the Village, all hours of work for which compensation is expected, and that, 1. The failure or refusal of any employee, after due notice, to record hours of work as set forth above, shall be good and sufficient cause for dismissal, and, 2. Each employee is specifically forbidden to make any entry whatsoever on the time card of another employee under penalty of dismissal, and further, the entry of fraudulent or misleading data on any time card by any employee whatsoever shall be good and sufficient reason for dismissal, and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the payroll officier or such other person as the Council may designate is hereby charged with the duty of enforcing the above regulations. It shall be the duty of said official to call the attention of the proper authorities to all violations for which dismissal is the penalty, under the terms of this resolution, rovided however, said officials may from time to time issue adm n strait ve regulations governing the use of the automatic time device referred to herein, which shall have full force and effect after the posting on the official village bulletin board. Said official may in his discretion accept the reasonable excuses for violation of the above provisions and may excuse certain departments and persons from compliance with this resolution where said department and/or person is outside the scope of this resolution (example: Volunteer Fire Department and the Fire Chief) and where in the exercise of sound discretion any person should be excused and may suspend any employee one working day or less as disciplinary action for minor violations. 1 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Foss and upon vote being taken thereon the following members voted in favor thereof: Foss$ Huebsch and Rahn$ and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Magor.and attested by the Clerk.
