Resolution No. 70 August 17, 1954
Member Foss then introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
1954 STREET IMPROVEMENT NO. 18
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Val-
ley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. It is hereby determined that bids shall be accepted for contracts
awarded only for the following portions of work upon which bids were
received:.

Proposal A 'may be defined as the entire length of Hanley and Ridge-
way Roads Aom tk, ie r Atersection with Winnetka Avenue to its inter-
section with Hanley Rod.
Proposal B may be defined as Regent Avenue North from its intersec-
tion with Golden Valley Road northerly with its intersection with
Minnaqua Avenue, and the entire length of Sorrell Avenue in West -
urban Addition, the entire length of Ordway Avenue in Westurban Ad-
dition, the entire length of,Orchard Avenue in Westurban Addition,
the entire length of Markay Ridge in Westurban Addition, the entire
length of Windsor Way in Westurban Addition and the entire length
of Westbend Road in Westurban Addition.
2. It is hereby found, determined and declared, that the lowest re-
sponsible bidder for work and materials necessary for the construc-
tion of 1954 Street Improvement No. 18 of the Village is as follows:

and that the bids submitted by said bidder listed above is in all
respects in accordance with law and with the published advertisement
for bids and with the plans and specifications heretofore approved
by the Council and now on file and of record in the office of the
Village Clerk; and that the Engineer employed by the Village has
recommended that said bid be accepted, and said bid is hereby ac-
cepted.
3. The Mayor and Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to make and execute a contract on behalf of the Village in accordance
with the terms of said bid when the bidder shall have furnished a

contractor's bond in the amount of the bid, conditioned as re-
quired by law.
4. The Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith
all cash deposits, bid bonds or certified checks furnished by other
bidders, and to retain that furnished by said contractor until the
execution and filing of said contract and bond in his office.
5. All other bids are rejected.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Member Rahn and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Foss, Huebsch, Rahn and Stark;
(Absent, Bies) and the following voted against the same: None;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed
by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk
