VILLAGE COUNCIL
Resolution No. 102 February i5: 1955
Member Rahn introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED STORM SUM
IMPROVEMENT
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Hennepin County, Minnesota, as follows:
1. It is hereby found and determined that G. M. Orr Engineering Co.,
Engineers, have heretofore reported to this_Council that a storm sewer
improvement for the Village as hereinafter described, is feasible and
may best be made as proposed, and that the estimated cost of said improve-
ment to the Village is 8 5001.00.
2. This Council shall meet at the'time and place specified in the form
of notice included in paragraph 3 hereof for the purpose of holding a
public hearing on the proposed construction of a storm sewer improvement
as therein described.
3. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the'time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive
weeks, in the Suburban Press, being the official newspaper of the Village,
the first of such publications to be not less than 10 days and second
not less than 3 days prior to the date of said meeting. Such notice
shall be in substantially the following form:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVW. that the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley,.Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on March 15, 1955 at 7:30
o'clock P.M. at the Village Hall in -said Village, for the purpose of
holding a public hearing on proposed storm sewer improvement.

The proposed storm sewer improvement will follow.the following route:
On Lowry Terrace and Lowry Terrace extended, beginning at a point 160 feet
East of the center line of Quail Avenue North, thence West to the West line
of Regent Avenue.
The proposed storm sewer improvement will serge the following area:

Beginning at a point 300 feet East of the Southeast corner of the South-
west Quarter -of the Northwest Quarter of Section 7, Township 29, 11ange 24,
thence North to the center line of 34th Avenue, thence East to center line
of Malpr.Avenue_,. thence South .to a point.. 215 feet South- of center line of
Ardel:l Avenue., .thence_ ;East 1.56.. feet, thence. southerly along middle line
of. Block. 8_to Southeast,. corner_. of_Lot _.12,. thence. -West 187 feet, thence
South 50 feet_ to_ Southeast. corner_ of. Lot 10.,. Block..11,_ thence West 170 feet
to the Southwest.corner:of_Lot lO, Block 11, _thence North to center line of
Triton Drive extended,.thence.est.to a point -162 feet West of the center
line of.Orchard Avenue, thence -North 239 feet, thence West 340 feet, thence
Southwest 97 feet, thence Northwest 177 feet to center line of Quail Avenue,
thence North to center line of Lowry Terrace, thence West to the point of
beginning, a total of approximately 55 acres.
The storm sewer improvement is in accordance with preliminary plans and
estimates now on file in the office of the Village Clerk, The Engineers
for the Village estimate that the cost of the improvement will be $5000.00.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decisions on the proposed
improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority
granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvement
is proposed to be assessed for such improvement as follows:
All property in all of the above described area, including all property
abutting on any and all existing or proposed streets and highways within
the above described area., or abutting on said area including all property
owned by any railroad and all railroad rights-of-way areas.
All owners of such property in and abutting upon the above described
areas are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to
make known their objections to such proposed improvement if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded. by. Member Stark, and on vote being.., taken .thereon.,. the. following

resolution was declared passed and --adopted., and was signed. by the Mayor
