#118 05-17-55 Provide Public Hearing Street ImprovementU Resolution Pio. 118 Play 17th, 1955 Member Foss introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED STREET IMPROVEMENT BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a street improvement within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof. 2. The Village Engineer has reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed street improvement is feasible and that it should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improvement, and has given his estimated costs of the improvement as follows: Proposed street improvement, $5,500.00 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed street improvement _ag-described therein. 1 4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to caase notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publica- tions to be in the issue of said paper dated June 2nd, and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated June 9th, 1955. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY HENNEP3N COUNTY, MINNESOTA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF PROPOSED STREET IMPROVEMENT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, June 21st, 1955, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the Village Hall in said Village, for the purpose of hold- ing a public hearing on proposed street improvement as follows: Changing and establishing the grade' opening, grading, and gravelling the follow- ing ollowing described street: Douglas Drive from the Minnesota Western Railroad right-of-way southerly to its intersection with Trunk Highway 55 service road. The engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost of the improvement will be $5,500.00. 234 In conducting said public hearing for making its decisions on the proposed improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 3982 Minnesota Laws for 1953. All property within the Village vhich is benefited by the improvement is pro- posed to be assessed for such improvement as follows: A11 property abutting on said street. All owners of such property in and abutting upon said street are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objec- tions to such proposed improvement, if any there be.
