Resolution No. 128. September 6, 1955
Member Stark introduced and read the following written resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of
Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a storm sewer improve-
ment within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in paragraph 4
hereof.
2. The Village Engineer has reported to the Council advising it in a
preliminary way that the proposed storm sewer improvement is feasible and
should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improve-
ment, and has given his estimated cost of the improvement as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place
and purpose of.said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the Sub-
urban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publications
`to be in the issue of said paper dated October 20, 1955. Such notice shall be in
substantially the following form:

PROPOSED STORM SEXIER IMPROVEMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Hennepin County, Minnesota, wll meet on Tuesday, November 1, 1955, at 7:30 o'clock
P.M. at the Village Hall, for the purpose of holding a public hearing of a pro-
posed storm sewer improvement as follows: Installation and construction of a
storm sewer system and all things appurtenant thereto located in and designed
to serve the following described area in Golden Valley.
Beginning at a point Three Hundred (300) feet East of the inter-
section of the center lines of Regent and Lowry Terrace (West),

Yale Garden Homes; thence North from 33rd Avenue North along center
line of Quail Avenue to the North right-of-way line of Drake Road;
thence East a distance of One Hundred sixty-eight (168) feet;
thence North One Hundred thirty-four (134) feet: thence East
Seventy-nine (79) feet; thence North One Hundred Forty-seven (147)
feet; thence East One Hundred (100) feet; thence South Eighty (80)
feet; thence East along approximate center line of proposed lots
a distance of Three Hundred (300) feet; thence North a distance of
Eighty and Five -tenths (80.5) feet; thence East to West right-of-way
line of Noble Avenue; thence North to center line of 34th Avenue
North; thence East a distance of Five Hundred Twenty-eight (528)
feet; thence South to Northeast corner of Lot.Fourteen, (14), Block
Seven (7) Noble Grove; thence Southwest to Southwest corner of Lot
Fourteen (14), Block Seven (7) Noble Grove; thence West to midpoint
of South line of Lot one (1), Block Ten (10) Noble Grove, a
distance of One Hundred Twenty-seven (127) feet; thence South
through the center of Lots Two through Nine (2-9), Block Ten (10),
to the midpoint of South line of Lot Nine, (9), Block Ten (10),
thence Southeasterly to intersection of center lines of Major and
Adell Avenues; thence South on center line of Major a distance of
Eight Hundred Forty (840) feet; thence West'to Southeast corner of
Lot Nine (9), Block Eleven (11) Noble Grove; thence Northwesterly
to Northwest corner of Lot Nine (9), Block Eleven (11) Noble Grove;
thence West along South line of Lot Fifteen (15), Block Eleven (11),
Noble Grove, to Southwest corner of Lot Fifteen (15), Block Eleven
(11) Noble Grote; thence Southwesterly to intersection of center
lines of Noble and Triton Drive: thence West along center line of
Tritan. -Drive to a point One Hundred Sixty-two (162) feet West of
center line of Orchard Avenue; thence North to Northwest corner of
Lot Four (4), Block Eight (8), Woodlawn Park; thence Westerly to
Southwest corner of Lot Eleven. (11), Block Eight (8) Woodlawn Park,
Thence Northwesterly to center line of Quail Avenue; thence Northerly
along center line of Quail Avenue to center line of Lowry Terrace;
thence West along center line of Lowry Terrace to point of beginning.
The Village Engineer estimates that the entire cost for the improvement
at $18,052.00.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decisions on the proposed
storm sewer improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the
authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953.
All property within the Village which is benefitted by the improvement
is proposed to be assessed for such improvement as follows:
All property in the Village located in the above described
area, and all property located on either side of streets
abutting on the above described area.

All owners of property in and abutting on si ad streets and in said area
are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing:, and to make known their
objections to such proposed improvement, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Member Rahn and, upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, and the following
voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested
by the Clerk.
