#157 05-01-56 Relate Gas Service Connections South Trunk SewerResolution No. 157 May 1, 1956 Member Rahn introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION RELATING TO GAS SERVICE CONNECTIONS SOUTH TRUNK SEWER WHEREAS, work on Village Trunk Sewer :Improvement No. 2 can be expedited by the temporary removal of certain gas installations, and WHEREAS, such temporary removal can best be accomplished by the employees of the Minneapolis Gas Company, and WHEREAS, the said Minneapolis Gas Company has indicated a willingness to do such work when requested to do so by the Village on a basis which appears to be satisfactory to this Council, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1. That the Sanitary Sewer Resident Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to order the temporaty removal of such gas3installations in Village streets as will expedite the construction of said improvement.by the signing of written work orders for such items of labor and materials as are hereinafter, specified. 2. That the cost of such items of labor and.materials hereinafter specified shall be paid for by the Village and charged to the proper Sanitary Sewer Improvement Construction Fund upon presentation of monthly verified claims therefor.by the said Minneapolis Gas Company after audit and allowance by the Village Council. 3. That the items of labor and materials for which reimbursement shall be made shall be as follows: (a) Direct payroll according to schedules established by contract for rank and classification of workmen used in actual performance of said work, including laborers, mechanics, welders, machine oper- ators and street "foremen" (working union crew leader) and costs directly relating to payroll such as workments compensation insurance, pensions, social security, state unemployment, hosp- italization insurance and group insurance. ('dime devoted by officers, superintendents, engineer, supervisors and inspectors in planning and co-ordinating the work, locating and marking gas structures for the contractors, taking precautionary measures on gas company initiative or observing precautions being taken by the contractors will not be included in costs of temporary removal and replacement ordered by the Village.) (b) Materials installed in the permanent structure as restored and replaced which are made necessary by the temporary removal, such as pipe, pipe protective coatings, compression couplings, pressure control fittings,.rapai sleeves and clamps, welding flanges, service saddles, street tees and ells, drip pots, etcl, at store room cost. 632 Resolution No. 157 (continued) May 1, 1956 (c) The operating cost of trucks used in bringing tools and supplies and moving men and equipment to be charged on an hourly basis as determined from operating cost records. (d) In the event that sections of gas mains lying along the length of streets to be opened for sewer installation would be undermined and must be removed and subsequently relaid and reconnected involving the use of a main lying crew and #9avy construction equipment, then charges may include the time of a main crew supervising foreman and gasoline and lubricants used on the job by the power equipment. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Teresi and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members voted in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn and Teresi; and the following. voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature was attested by the Clerk. 1 1
