Resolution No. 166 June 5, 1956
Member Rahn introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED
TRUNK SEWER IMPROVEMENT
(N.W. TRUNK)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Hennepin County, Minnesota, as follows;
1. It is hereby found and determined that G. M. Orr Engineering Co.,
Engineers, have heretofore reported to this Council that a trunk sewer
improvement for the Village as hereinafter described, is feasible and
may best be made as proposed, and that the estimated cost of said improve-
ment to the Village is $1,675,000.00.
2. This Council shall meet.at the time and place specified on the form
of notice included in paragraph 3 hereof for the purpose of holding a
public hearing on the proposed construction of a system of trunk sanitary
sewers as therein described.
3. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive
weeks, in the Suburban Press, being the official newspaper of the Village,
the first of such publications to be not less than 10 days and second
not less than 3 days prior to the date of said meeting. Such notice
shall be in. substantially the following forma
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED TRUNK SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM
NOTICE IS HMEBY GLEN that the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on the 26th day of
June, 1956 at 7130 o'clock PM at the Meadowbrook School in said
Village, for the purpose of holding a public hearing on proposed trunk
sanitary sewer improvement.
The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the
improvement will be x¢1,675,000.00. The proposed trunk sanitary sewer
improvement will serve and be located in the following described areal
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Village, thence
Easterly along the Northerly boundary of the Village to
Trunk Highway IQ,:,<100 (Belt Line); thence South to Trunk
Highway 55 (Olson Highway); thence West along Trunk High-
way 55 to its intersection with Winnetka Avenue; thence
South along Winnetka Avenue to the Southerly boundary of
the Village; thence West along the Southerly boundary of
the Village to the Westerly boundary of the Village (County
Road 18); thence Northerly along the Westerly boundary of
the Village to point of beginning.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed
improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority
granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended.

All property within the Village Mich is benefited by the improvement
is proposed to be assessed for such improvement, including all property
within the above described area, and including all railroad property
located.in or bordering upon said area.
All owners of such property in the area described above are hereby
notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their
objections to such proposed trunk sewer improvement, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Teresi andsupon vote being taken theneon, the following voted
in favor thereofs Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, and Teresi; and the
following voted against the same= None, whereupon said resolution was
declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature
attested by the Clerk.
