Resolution No. 171 June 26, 1956
Member Teresi introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session. Lags of
Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a certain public
improvement within the Village as stated in the form of notice included
in paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Village Engineer has reported to the Council advising it in a
preliminary way that the proposed public improvement is feasible and
that it should best be made as proposed and in connection with certain
other improvements heretofore ordered -and consolidated, and known as
Improvement No. 20, and has given his estimated cost of the improvement
as follows:
Total cost of Improvement: $31,592.00
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form
of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a
public hearing on the proposed public improvement as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorised and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive
weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the
first of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated July
5, 1956, and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said
paper dated July 12, 1956. Such notice shall be in substantially the
following form:
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Village Council of the Village
of Golden Valley, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, July 24, 1956,
at 7:30 otclock F.M. at the Village Hall in said Village for
the purpose of holding a public hearing on a proposed public
improvement.
The Engineer of the Village estimates that the entire cost
for the improvement will be $31,592.00.
The improvement consists of the following:
Opening, establishing the grade, grading, graveling, and
providing for the drainage of surface waters in and for
and on the following described streets and projected
streets:

All streets present or projected abutting on Lots 11
through 20 in the West One-half of Yale Garden Homes,
according to the map and plat thereof on file and of record
in the office of the Register of Keds in and for Hennepin
County and according to the plat and replat and projected
street pattern of said area, approved by the Village Council,
and on file and open for public inspection in the office of
the Village Clerk, and including not only property in said
area in Yale Garden Homes, but all streets and projected streets
abutting on said lots.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on
the proposed improvement, the Village Council proposes to
proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota
Laws for 1953, as amended.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the
improvement is proposed to be assessed for such improvement
as set forth in the description of the improvement set forth
above.
All owners of such property in the area and abutting upon the
streets and projected streets described above, are hereby notified
to be present at said public hearing and to make known their
objects to such proposed public improvement, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Member Stark and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, and
Teresa.; and the following voted against the same: None; Whereupon
said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the
Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk.
