#174 06-26-56 Proivde Studies Municipal Disposal FacilitiesResolution No. 174 June 26, 1956 Member Stark introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PARTICIPATION IN CERTAIN STUDIES OF PROPOSED MUNICIPAL DISPOSAL FACILITIES BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. This Council has examined and considered the problem of sanitary disposal of garbage and rubbish in this community, and hereby finds and determines that it would be beneficial to this municipality and its inhabitants to join in an association with other municipalities in the Minneapolis suburban area in the study of said disposal problem, with a view to the establishment of a suburban sanitary disposal authority or other instrumentality, and also to defray this municipalityts share, on a pro rata basis of preliminary legal, engineering, administrative, financial, and other expenditures which may be made by such association. 2. The Mayor, or such member of this Council as he may appoint, shall meet with other representatives of Minneapolis suburban municipalities as an association for the purpose of studying said disposal problem and obtaining competent engineering, legal, and financial advice and reports. 3. For the purpose of defraying the expenses of making studies of said problem and obtaining competent engineering, legal, and financial advice and reports in connection therewith, this municipality shall forthwith pay to Royce W. Owens, the Secretary-Treaaurer of the association formed to study said problem, the sum of 1/-10 of $114.10, which sum is hereby found to be available for such purpose, and the further 9/10 sum of $1,026.90 is hereby ordered to be included in the municipal budget for the year 1957, to be disbursed by the Treasurer to said Royce W. Owens, or his successor as Secretary -Treasurer of said association, upon the latter's request. 4. Nothing in this resolution shall act as a precedent binding on the Village of Golden Valley as any final sharing in any eventual costs of construction, operation, or maintenance may be concerned. t The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Bies, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Stark, and Teresi; and the following abstained: Rahn; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, sighed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk.
