Member Stark introduced the following resolution and moved its adoptions
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR HEARING ON ASSESSMENTS AND
RE -ASSESSMENTS FOR STREET AND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS IN
THE VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. The assessment and reassessment rolls heretofore duly prepared for
certain local improvements heretofore made or ordered to be made in the
Village, such improvements being described in the notice of hearing set
forth in paragraph 2 hereof, are hereby approved as the proposed assess-
ments and reassessments for said improvements, and this Council shall
meet at the time and place indicated in said notice, for the purpose of
passing upon said assessments and reassessments and hearing all objections
thereto.
2. The village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice
of said meeting to be published in the Suburban Press, the official
newspaper of this municipality, at least two weeks before the date of
said meeting, which notice shall be in substantially the following form:
NOTICE OF HEARING ON ASSESSMENTS AND RE -ASSESSMENTS
FOR STREET AND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS IN THE VILLAGE OF
GOLDEN VALLEY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Minnesota, will meet at the Village Hall in said Village on
October 2, 1956, at 7:30 o'clock F.M., to hear, consider and pass
upon all written or oral objections, if any, to proposed assessments
and reassessments for improvements as described below. The proposed
assessment rol is now on file and open to public inspection by all
persons interested, in the office of the Village Clem. The entire
amount to be assessed against any parcel of land will be payable,
unless prepaid, in equal consecutive annual installments, the first
of such installments to be payable with gsneral taxes for the year 1956,
collectible with such taxes during the year 1957• The first install-
ment will be payable with interest at the rete of 6% per annum(except
where specified elsewhere below) on the entire assessment from the
date of the resolution levying said assessments to December 31, 1957,
and each subsequent installment will be payable with one yearts interest
at said rate on all unpaid installments, except that no interest will
be charged if the entire assessment as to any 'parcel is paid at the
office of the Treasurer within 30 days from the date of adoption of the
assessment roll.
Said assessments and reassessments are proposed to be made with respect
to the following improvements, and the area proposed to be assessed
for each improvement is as set forth following each respective improve-
ment:

Sanitga Trunk Sewer Imprhvement No. 2 (South Trunks Installation and
construction of a s tart' = sewer system and all things appurtenant
thereto located in and designed to serve the following described area
in Golden Valley and certain areas in St. Louis Parks
That area bounded approximately by France Avenue on the East,
Floyd B. Olson Highway (6th Avenue North) on the North,
Winnetka on the West and Wayzata Boulevard and Douglas Avenue
on the South. A complete description is as follows:
All that property included within the following described boundary
line, to -wit:
All that portion of the West one-half (W) of the NorthVt
Beginning at a point on the center line of France Avenue and
the South Property line of the Minneapolis, Northfield and

fited property in the Tillage located in the above-described area and
all property located on either side of streets abutting on the above-
descti.bed area, including all railroad rights-of-way and all railroad
property in and abutting on said area. The assessments will be payable
in 20 installments.
Improvement No. 20: Gradin g and graveling proposed Western Avenue
'fromoun y Roa ,moo. 18 to a point 1000 feet eastwards. The area
proposed to be assessed includes NW -41 of NW -41 of Section 6, Township 117,
Range 21, and S2z.of SWJ of SW -41 of Section 31, Township 118, Range 21.

Storm Sewer construction in the following area, which is also the area
proposed to be assessed: Dawn Acres 2nd addition - Blocks 11 2, 5, and
Ej of Block 3; Damm Acres lst Addition - Block 9, Lots 3 through 18,
Blocks 10 and 11, Block 8, Lots 15 through 22; Block 3, Lots 7 through
11; Merribee Hills 2nd Addition - Block 2, Lots 6 through 11; Block 3,
Golden Talley Gardens and Block 4 and W2 of Block 3; Noble Grove -
B1ock 12; Block 91 Lots 8 through 14; Block 11, Lots 9 through 14;
Woodlawn Park - Block 2, Lots 1 through 11; Unplatted areas - Parcel
8000 (School District No. 24 property on Noble Ave.) and ParcOl 5230
(SW Quadrant of Noble Ave. and Culver Rd.). Also,
Storm sewer construction in Clover Leaf Terrace Addition. The area
proposed to be assessed includes all property in said addition and all
property abutting on all streets included in the plat of said addition.

Addition, including the service drive to Highway 100 and Highway 55;
on Xenia Avenue in front of Block 1, Lot 8 and Block 2, Lot 4, Grace-
ful Addition; on Welcome Avenue from Golden Talley Road to Xenia Avenue;
and on Holiday Lane from Highway No. 55 service drive to Highway No.
100 service drive. The area proposed to be assessed includes all
property abutting on said streets. Also,
Bituminous stabilized base construction on all streets in Clover Leaf
Terrace Addition, Xenia Avenue from Golden Talley Road to St. Croix
Avenue, Welcome Avenue from Golden Talley Road to Xenia Avenue, Holiday
Land from Highway No. 55 service drive to Highway No. 100 service
drive, Talery Road at Noble Avenue, St. Croix Avenue from Golden Talley
Road to Spring Talley Road, Frontenac Avenue from Golden Talley Road
to Quail Avenue, Quail Avenue from Golden Talley Road to Frontenae

The area proposed to be assessed includes all property abutting on

Grading and Graveling the following streets: Jersey Avenue from its
present southerly terminus to the North line of Laurel Avenue
extended, Easterly and Westerly; Laurel Avenue extended Easterly
and Westerly from its intersection with Jersey Avenue extended ,
Westerly to its intersection with Louisiana Avenue extended;
Louisiana Avenue extended Northerly and Southerly from its inter-
section of Laurel Avenue extended, Easterly and Westerly, Southerly
to its intersection with Trunk Highway No. 12 (Wayzata Blvd.).
The area proposed to be assessed for said improvement includes all prop-
erty abutting on said streets. The assessments for said improvement
will be paybble in ten installments.
Completion of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1, consisting
of the con ruct on an ifistallationo a la, era s terry sewer system
in Sewer District No. 1, described as follows:
All that land located South of the Northerly boundaries of
the Village, North of the Minneapolis, Northfield and
Southern Railway tracks, West of the Easterly boundaries of
the Village, and East of Trunk Highway No. 100.
The assessments proposed to be made for completion of said improvement
are supplemental to and not in replacement of those levied last year
for said improvement, the total cost of said improvement having proved
to exceed the amount of assessments levied last year. The area proposed
to be supplementally assessed includes all property within the foregoing
described area, including all railroad property. the supplemental
assessments will be payable in 19 installments.
Lateral Sewers in I of Yale Garden Homes (Re -assessment):
Lateral sewer improvements in that portion of Lateral Sewer District No. 1
(c) described as follows:
Bounded on the North by 34th Avenue North; on the South by
Lowry Terrace; on the East by Noble Avenue, and on the West
by Rebent Avenue, including property not in the above des-
cribed tract of land but abutting on the West side of Regent
Avenue between 34th Avenue North and Lowry Terrace, and
property on the South Side of Lowry Terrace between Noble
Avenue and Regent Avenue.

The assessments levied in 1955 on said described area for lateral sewer
improvements are proposed to be cancelled and replaced by a reassess-
ment which will be payable in 19 installments.

by Member Teresi ara upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Stark, and Teresi; and the following
voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution w" declared
duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested
by the Clerk.
