Member Rahn introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED
LATERAL SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota,
as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota,
1953, this Council proposes to construct a certain lateral sanitary sewer
improvement within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in
paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising it
in a preliminary way that the proposed lateral sanitary sewer improvement is
feasible and that it should best be made as proposed and not in connection
with some other improvement, and has given his estimated cost of t#e improve-
ment as followsa
Total cost of improvements $6,000.00
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of
notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public
hearing on the proposed lateral sanitary sewer improvement as described
therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place
and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in
the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of
such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated October 25, 1956,
and the second of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated
November 1, 1956. Such notice shall be in substantially. -the following forms

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED LATERAL SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, November 13,
1916, at 7:30 otclock P.M. at the Village Hall in said Village, for the
purpose of holding a public hearing on a certain proposed lateral sanitary
sewer improvement.
The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the improve-
ment will be $6,000.00.
The area to be served by the lateral sewer will be as follows:
The Northeast quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section
Five (5), Township One Hundred Seventeen (117), Range
Twenty-one (21) .

Said sewer will be constructed in Jersey Avenue from its present southerly
terminus extended southerly and southwesterly to its intersection with
Laurel Avenue extended.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed
improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority
granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Lags for 1953, as amended.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvement is
proposed to be assessed for such improvement as set forth in the
description set forth above.
All owners of such property in the area and abutting upon the streets
described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing
and to make known their objections to such proposed public improvement, if
any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Stark and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereofs Bies, Rahn, Stark, and Teresi, and the following voted
against the samez None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk.
