Resolution No. 208 December 11, 1956
Member Rahn introduced and read the following resolution and MOVED its
adoption;
RESOLUTION REGARDING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT
OF CERTAIN STATE OF MINNESOTA PROPERTY
(Trunk Highway #100 Maintenance Center)
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota and its Highway Department maintain in
Golden Valley, west of Trunk Highway No. 100 and to the north of Golden
Valley Road, a maintenance and repair center on a'large tract of land,
29.12 acres, all owned by the State of Minnesota, -and
WHEREAS, sii.d tract of land is located in Trunk Sewer District Number 3 of
the Village, the Village must construct Trunk Sewer Number 3 of a sufficient
size to handle sewage from said tract of land when devoted to its highest
and best use and fully occupied,
NOK 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley, that the legislature be requested by the proper officials and
officers of the Village, to urge upon the forthcoming session of the legis—
lature that it adopt legislation permitting said tract of land to be specially
assessed for the benefits derived from said trunk sewer in the same manner
and to the same extent that private lands similarly situated will be assessed.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Member Stark and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Star, and Teresi, and the following
voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor, and his signature attested by the
Clerk.
