#004 02-05-57 Direct Condemnation Laurel Avenue19 Resolution No. 4 February 5,1957 Member Rahn introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION DIRECTING CONDEMNATION (Hannah Johnson, at al, Laurel Avenue) WHEREAS, it is necessary, advisable and in the public interest that the Village of Golden Valley acquire an easement over certain lands for the purpose of opening and establishing a street which will be an extension of Laurel Avenue and Colorado, and WHEREAS, in order to accomplish such purpose it is necessary to acquire an easement over the following described land, namely, The North Fifty (50) feet and the West Fifty (50) feet of the following described property as measured perpendicular to the -North and West lines thereof: The West Three Hundred Thirty-two (332) feet of Lot Three (3), Section Four W, Township One Hundred Seventeen (117), Range Twenty-one (21), Hennepin County, Minnesota, owned by Esther 7ngve, an undivided one-sixth; Clara Petrich, an undivided one-sixth; Alice Stans, an undivided one-sixth; John Carl Johnson, an un- divided one-sixth; Irene B. Johnson, an undivided one-sixth; Shirley Ann Brodin, an undivided one - twelfth; and Arlene Phillips, an undivided one - twelfth, and, WHEREAS, the Village is advised and believes that the most feasible location for such streets is on the land above described, and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to procure an easement over such lands by right of eminent domain, NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED; That the Village of Golden Valley proceed to procure an easement in such land under its right of eminent domain, and that the Village Attorney be ins trusted and directed to file the necessary petition therefor, and to present and prosecute such action to a successful conclusion, or until it is abandoned, dismissed, or terminated by the Village, or by the Court; that the Village Attorney, the Mayor, and the Clerk, do all things necessary to be done in the commencement, prosecution and successful termination of such action.
