and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT OF DOUGLAS DRIVE
NORTH
(Fund 21-A)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Minnesota as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws
of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a certain
proposed street improvement within the Village as stated in the
form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The engineer for the Village has reported to the Council ad-
vising it in a preliminary way that the proposed street improve-
ment is feasible and that it should best be made as proposed and
not in connection with some othev.improyement, and has given his
estimated cost of the improvement as follows:
Total cost of improvement: $264,870.13; of which cost
$153,451.28 will be borne by
the Village.
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the
form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of
holding a public hearing on the proposed street improvement as
described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the
time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two
successive weeks in theSuburban Press, the official newspaper of
the Village, the first of such publications to be in the issue of
said paper dated April 18,1957, and the second of said publications
to be in the issue of said paper dated April 25,1957. Such notice
shall be in substantially the following form:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT OF DOUGLAS DRIVE NORTH
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday,
May 7,1957, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the Village Hall in said Village,
for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a certain proposed
street improvement.

The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost
for the improvement will be $264,870.13; of which cost $153.,451.28
will be borne by the Village.
The improvement will be as follows: Preparation, sub -grading,
grading, gravelling, and the installation of bituminous paving and
of concrete curb and gutter, bridge widening, land acquisition, and
provision for the drainage of surface waters in and for the follow-
ing described street;
Douglas Drive North as it is now laid out,
from its intersection with the North line
of the South z of the North 2 of Section 29,.
Township 118, Range 21, southerly to its
intersection with Trunk Highway 55; and
where Douglas Drive North may now not be
laid out, its improvement as described as
said street is extended from its intersection
with Golden Valley Road to its intersection
with Trunk Highway 55.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on
the proposed improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed
under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for
1953, as amended.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the
improvement is proposed to be assessed for such improvement as set
forth in the description set forth above, including all property
abutting on the street and street extended as described above.
All owners of such property abutting upon the street and street
extended described above, are hereby notified to be present at said
public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed
public improvement, if any there be.
