Member Bies introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoptions
"RESOLUTION PROVING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVE -
NUTS" (FUND 21)
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as followsa
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of
Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct certain proposed
Public improvements within the Village as stated in the form of notice
included in paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council idviigiirg it
in a preliminary way that the propcmed public improvements are feasible
and that they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with
some other improvement, and has given his estimated cost of the improve-
ments as followsr
Total cost of improvementss $109,029.99
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of
notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a publkc
hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks
in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of
such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated May 2 and the
second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated May 9,
1957. Such notice shall be in substantially the following forma
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY, HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA, NOTICE OF
PUBLIC HEARING ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS (FUND 21)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, May'14, 1957,
at 700 otclock p.m. at the Village Hall in said Village, for the purpose
of holding a public hearing on certain proposed public improvements.
The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the impro-
vements will be $109,029.99.
The areas to be served will be as follows:
STORK SEATER AND SURFACE WATERS DRAINAGE
Lots 12 thru 19 Block 10 Noble Grove
Lots 15 thru 21 Block 11 Noble Grove
Lots 1 thru 8 Block 1 Woodlawn Park
Lots 1 thru 8 Block 8 Woodlewn Park
Lots 11 thru 17 Block 8 Woodlawn Park
And that part of Yale Garden Homes lying East of the following described lines

Commencing at a point that is on the centerline of Lowry Terrace and is
300 feet East of the centerline of Regent Avenue North; thence North
parallel to Quail Avenue to 33rd Avenue North; thence North from 33rd
Avenue North along centerline of Quail Avenue to the centerline of Drake
Road; thence East 168 feet; thence North 164 feet; thence East 79 feet;
thence North to centerline to 34th Avenue North.
The engineer estimates that the cost of the above improvement will be
$292283.60.

The engineer estimates that the cost of the above improvement will be
$13,934.4o.
All of the property beginning at the northwest corner of the South 2 of
the northeast ; thence East to a point, distant 300 feet West from the
northeast corner thereof; thence South at right angles 300 feet; thence
East at right angles 300 feet to the centerline of County Road No. 102;
thence South along said centerline of County Road No. 102 to its inter-
section with the northerly right-of-way line of Minn.eapolis,Northfield
and Southern Railroad; thence northwesterly along said right-of-way line
to its intersection with the West line of northeast I of Section 29,
T 1182 R 21; thence North to beginning except road.
Also all of the South half of the northeast quarter of the northeast
quarter, Section 29, T 118, R 21; also the South 199.55 feet of that
part of the North a of the northeast I of the northeast 1, Section 29,
T 118, R 21, lying East of the West 657.12 feet thereof.
The West 657.12 feet of the North half of the northeast quarter of the
northeast quarter of Section 29, T 118, R 21; and also the East 198 feet
of the North half of the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter,
Section 29, T 118, R 21.

Also, the following described land: Commencing at a point on the East
line of Section 29, T 1182 R 21 a distance of 500+ feet South from the
Northeast corner thereof; thence East at a right angle a distance of 183
feet; thence South parallel to the East line of said Section 29, to a
point 132.6 feet North from the South line of Block 11, Yarnall's Golden
Malley Outlots; thence West, parallel to the South line of said Block 11,
to the East line of Section 29, T 118, R 21; thence North along said East
line to point of beginning. Also, all of the land bounded by St. Croix
Avenue on the North, Douglas Drive No. on the West, Minneapolis, North-
field & Southern R R on the South, and Brookfair Addition on the East.
Lots 1 thru 12, Block 2, Brookfair Addition.
The egaineer estimates that the cost of the above improvement will be
$45,753.00.
The North 39 rods of the South one-half of the southwest one-quarter of
the southwest one-quarter of Section 31, T 118, R 21, except road. And
also that part of the West one-half of the northwest one-quarter of
Section 6, T 1170 R 21 lying North of Superior Boulevard, except road.
The engineer estimates that the cost of the above improvement will be
$6,647.00.
BITUMINOUS STABILIZED BASE AND PAVEMENT AND BITUMINOUS CURB
AND GUTTER
The areas to be assessed will be as follows:
Cumberland Hills Addition and that land abutting that portion of Indi-
ana Avenue North lying between Golden Valley Road and Cumberland Hills
Addition.
The engineer estimates that the cost of the above improvement will be
$2,878.99•
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed
improvements, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority
granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended. Each of
said improvements will be separately considered and separately decided
upon.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvements
is proposed to be assessed for -such improvements as set forth in the
descriptions set forth above, including all property within the above
described areas and/or abutting on streets described above, whether such
property be in the area described or not, and including all railroad
property and all railroad rights-of-way.
All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the streets
described above, are hereby notified to be present at said public hear-
ing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improve-
ments, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly second-
ed by Member Rahn and, upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark, Teresi
and the following voted aginst the same: None
whereupon said resolution was declared duly.passed and adopted, signed
by the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Clerk.
