#044 05-21-57 Gas Service ConnectionL, Resolution No. 44 May 21,1957 Member Stark introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: "RESOLUTION RELATING TO GAS SERVICE CONNECTION" WHEREAS, work on the 1957 Trunk and Lateral Sewer Improvement Project, can be expedited by the temporary removal of house service gas installa- tions, and . WHEREAS, such temporary removal can best be accomplished by employees of the Minneapolis Gas Company, and WHEREAS, the said Minneapolis Gas Company has indicated a willingness to do such work when requested to do so by the Village on a -basis which appears to be satisfactory to this Council: NOW THEREFORE, Be it Resolved as follows: 1. That the Sanitary Sewer Resident Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to order the temporary removal of such gas house services in village streets as will expedite the construction of said Village Pro- ject, by the signing of written work orders for such items of labor and materials as are hereinafter specified. 2. That the cost of such items of labor and materials hereinafter specified shall be paid for by the Village and charged to the proper Sanitary Sewer Improvement Construction Fund upon presentation of monthly verified claims therefor by the said Minneapolis Gas Company after audit and allowance by the Village Council. 3. That the items of labor and materials for which reimbursement shall be made as follows: (a) Direct payroll according to schedules established by con- tract for rank and classification of workmen used in actual performance of said work, including laborers, mechanics, welders, machine operators and street "foremen" (working union crew leader) and costs directly related to payroll such as workman*s compensation insurance, pensionp, social security, state unemployment, hospitalization insurance and group insurance. (Time devoted by officers, superintendents, engineers, supervisors and inspectors in pX&nning-and coordinating the work, locating and marking gas structures for the contractors, taking precautionary measures on Gas Company initiative or observing pre- cautions being taken by the contractors will not be included in costs of temporary removal and replacement ordered by the Village). (b) Materials installed in the permanent structure as restored and replaced which are made necessary by the temporary removal such as 112 Resolution No. 44 (continued) May 21,1957 pipe, pipe protective coatings, compression couplings, pressure control fittings, repair sleeves and clamps, welding flanges, service saddles, street tees and ells, drip pots, etc., at store- room cost. (c) The operating cost of trucks in bringing tools and supplies and moving men and equipment to be charged on an hour- ly basis as determined from the operating cost records. Mayor Attest iage Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Rahn and upon vote being taken thereon the following members voted in favor thereof: Bies, Rahn, Stark, and Teresi, and the following voted against the same; None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted signed by the Mayor and his -signature attested by the Clerk. 1
